Hey friends, happy Tuesday. I am so pleased to say that tomorrow I have my last two exams—Math and Spanish. It’s going to be a rough one but I’m feeling pretty good about them considering I’m finding time to write this blog post for you today. Have you been debating whether or not to purchase a Naked palette? And if so which one? If you’ve read my 2015 beauty favorites you would know that the Naked palette is my favorite one in my collection. Today I am here to review and compare Naked, Naked 2, Naked 3, and Naked Smokey. I’ve received these palettes in chronological order which is why Naked is my favorite and Naked Smokey is my least. I’ve had more time to play, swatch, and create endless looks with my older palettes. Despite this, I find that all of these palettes serve a different purpose and have their creamy formula is full of pigmentation and is certain to last all day when used with the Urban Decay Primer Potion.
Naked one is my baby as you can tell by the pictures. It can be purchased at Ulta or Sephora and retails for $54.00. This palette consists of ten sparkly shadows and two mattes. I find that this palette is the creamiest, richest, and most pigmented of the four. These shadows are very warm toned and look absolutely stunning on olive green skin tones and people with blue and green eyes. Eyeshadow names swatched from bottom to top are: gun metal, creep, hustle, toasted, dark horse, smog, half baked, buck (matte), sidecar, naked (matte), sin, and virgin.
Naked 2 is definitely my second most loved palette and is always on repeat during the high school Cheerleading season. It can be purchased at Ulta or Sephora and retails for $54.oo. Naked 2 and Naked both contain my favorite Urban Decay eyeshadow of all—half baked, which is a beautiful, creamy gold. This palette also contains booty call which is another favorite color for highlighting the inner corner and brow bone. This palette never disappoints when in need of a subtle, silver, smokey eye. It contains three matte shadows and nine sparkly. I recommend this for brown or hazel eyes. Eyeshadow names swatched from bottom to top are: black out (matte), busted, ydk, verve, pistol, suspect, snake bite, tease (matte), chopper, booty call, half baked, and foxy (matte).
Naked 3 is absolutely perfect if you love rose gold undertones, have fair skin, or have blue eyes. This pallet can be bought at Ulta or Sephora and retails for $54.00. This palette has three matte shadows and nine shimmery. Although the last third of this palette looks super dark, the majority of this palette shows up on the lighter side and is super gorgeous. This is a great one for the spring and summer time and looks the most beautiful of them all. Dust has the most fall out of the four palettes and black heart is a perfect color for the outer V and lower lash line. Eyeshadow names swatched from bottom to top are: black heart, dark side, mug shot, factory, liar, nooner (matte), trick, buzz, limit (matte), burnout, dust, and strange (matte).
Naked Smokey is essentially Naked Four. This palette was recently launched in September of 2015 and instantly got mixed reviews. Naked Smokey can be found at Ulta and Sephora and retails for $54.00. This palette has the prettiest packaging of them all with a tortoise-shell inspired case and a gorgeous crystal clear mirror. This palette has four matte shades and eight sparkly shadows; six of them are cool toned and six of them have warm undertones. I feel that this palette aimed to fit all skin types and coloring. However, the formula of this palette has changed from the first three leaving shadows a little harder to blend and causing more fallout. Eye shadow names swatched from bottom to top are: thirteen, combust, whiskey, password, smolder, black market, dagger, slanted, armor (matte), radar (matte), dirty sweet (matte), and high (matte).
I hope you enjoyed my thoughts on all four Naked palettes by Urban Decay and that this helped you in any way, shape, or form. They are by far my favorite and hold a special place in my heart. Wishing you a very awesome Wednesday ahead. With love, McKenz.
