Happy Saturday friends, I hope you’ve had a wonderful week. I just got home from cheering our schools bocce team at their county competition and I’m now sitting watching Gossip Girl (what a surprise). I’ve been debating on what to blog about today but I finally settled on a review of my Lorac Pro Palette. If I’m being honest, this is one of the palettes I reach for least but it happens to be one of the best palettes I own, all around.
Unfortunately, this palette can not be purchased at Sephora but can be found at your local Ulta or on Lorac’s website for $42.00 which is on the cheaper side for high end eye shadow palettes. This palette has eight matte shadows and eight sparkly and is the most versatile palette I own. It has a matte black finish with silver metallic writing that gets very dirty from fingerprints and foundation smudges but looks expensive nonetheless. It’s also travel friendly and is thinner than a quarter inch.
This palette is packed full of intensely pigmented shadows with a super creamy formula. I find that the eight matte shadows are a lot softer than the sparkly ones. I also find that these shadows seem to apply slightly better with the fingers than a brush. I feel that there is no near as much fall out and this allows the colors to live up to their full pigmentation. As you can see from the picture above, my most loved matte shadow is taupe and as far as sparkly goes, light bronze is my favorite.
The top row of the palette is all matte. Colors swatched from top to bottom are as listed: black, expresso, sable, mauve, light pink, taupe, cream, and white.
The bottom row are sparkly shadows. Shadows swatched from top to bottom are as listed: slate, deep purple, garnet, pewter, light bronze, gold, champagne, and nude.
Although I feel that I don’t reach for this palette too much because it lacks a light brown sparkly shadow, I do love the various looks I can create with it. I do recommend this and definetly find that the price is worth it, too. Overall- Wear Time: 8 Pigmentation: 10 Formula: 10 Fallout: 7 Overall: 9.
