I am convinced that yesterday was the best day of the school year. The Friday before homecoming is always the best. Between the pep rally, costumes, decked out hallways, and everyone’s favorite the game! Our football team is known to never disappoint and they did just as promised last night, bringing home another win.
At lunch, Jeanie, Sean and I always take pictures on the brick wall. It’s been a tradition for quite some time now and we always get the cutest pics at that hour.
Before the game, all of the JV and Varsity cheerleaders got ready tonight. Homecoming is a special game because we each get to wear one of the boy’s jerseys. I wore one of my close friends, Dustin’s. We all jammed out to music, teased one another’s hair, and made sure we looked our best for the greatest game of the year.
I hadn’t gotten my hair cut in months and chopped it into a lob Thursday night. Today I wore it in a poof with a teased pony tail but made sure to get a few pictures of it down first. For my makeup I kept a golden look all around using Naked One, the Anastasia Glow Kit, and the Buxom Full On Lipstick in ‘Brooklynn’. After we all are ready we take pictures together before heading down to the cafeteria to eat dinner together. I was able to get a picture with Tim before he left for work too, which made my night.
After we warm up all of our stunts, tumbling, and stretch we head onto the field for pregame rituals which include our school song, the National Anthem, and our four-teared banner that the boys walk through every home game. This weeks banner had all of our costume themes from the week incorporated. It read “Watch out Whitman you’ve stepped into our kingdom. We’re ready for battle and it’s time to sting em. It’s week #7 and we’re cracking down. It’s homecoming week in this hick town.”
The game then took place as usual and our Hornets brought home another 45-6 win leaving us with a 7-0 record. It was an incredible night to say the least and I am so proud of all my friends.
I hope you all enjoyed seeing pictures from my Homecoming Game. Today is the actual Homecoming dance and I will be taking tons of pictures which I can’t wait to show you all. I will of course, be doing a post on that which will be up soon! Thank you all for reading. I hope you have a fabulous day. Now I’m off to go start painting my nails and getting ready… With love, McKenz.
