With spring’s arrival less than two weeks away, it’s about time to start packing away my chunky sweaters and pulling out my frilly tanks instead. Where I live, this winter was not brutal by any means in comparison to year’s prior… which was terrible. I am not one to jump up and down for winter itself but if it’s going to be cold outside I’d rather it be snowing than cloudy and dull 24/7. Which unfortunately, it was this year.
Anyways with warmer temps (hopefully) on their way, I decided what better way to say goodbye to Winter than wrapping it up by sharing with you all my favorite pieces from the season and a few of my favorite outfits I wore this past season?! Before I keep rambling, let’s get on into it.
I typically don’t wear a coat to school because we don’t use lockers at my school and nobody wants to carry one around all day so I tend to opt for sweaters, scarves, and a lightweight jacket to keep ‘warm’ during the winter.
This year I could not get enough of vests! They are my preferred choice of outerwear because they are not too bulky and pair perfectly with almost anything. My most worn vest was definitely this fur one from Old Navy. I also could not get enough of blanket scarves. I picked up this one from Target a couple of years back and I am still obsessed.
Like I mentioned earlier, sweaters are always a must for me! I wore this fuzzy white cardigan from Hollister/ TJ Maxx literally all the time. I also could not get enough of flannels. They are perfect styled under a sweater, over a sweater, around the waist, I could go on and on because the options are seriously endless.
I received a pair of black over the knee boots from DSW for Christmas and absolutely fell in love. They instantly glam up any outfits so they were always on repeat. I also found myself in booties 90% of the Winter. My favorite ones this season were these blue velvet ones from Old Navy’s Winter collection.
Turtlenecks in every form were on repeat for me all season long. Whether it was a sweater or a tee, I without a doubt wore it multiple times.
And last but certainly not least, my beloved denim. In any way, shape, or form, I wore the heck out of it this Winter. I really experimented with this trend. My denim jacket is from Kohls and my favorite pair of jeans are from Gap. Along with these, I tried skirts, frayed edges, chokers, and so on. I am beyond excited to be carrying this trend on over to the warmer months as well because I feel so comfortable and confident in my own skin whenever I am wearing denim.
here are a few outfits I put together while trying on the individual pieces
Well, what clothes did you wear this winter on repeat?! Let me know in the comments below along with any requests you may have for me as we enter the warmer months. I am so excited for what’s to come here on styledbymckenz and cannot thank you all enough for your continuous love and support. Thanks, Chloe! They are my favs.
I definitely wore turtlenecks, baggy cardigans, denim, and scarves on repeat (and still am, since we had a blizzard today!). I haven’t worn a vest at all this winter, but I probably should… I actually have a vest with me, but I never think to wear it, haha. (Do you ever have a clothing article in your closet that you completely forgot about?)
Yes girl! I typically put things I haven’t worn lately on different colored hangers or at the front of my wardrobe so I know to reach for them! Thanks for reading and stay warm ?
