May brings graduation season for not only college students but for the high schoolers embarking on their next chapter of life. It is such an exciting + special time to watch everyone take the next step towards their future and of course it’s always a blast to celebrate it with their loved ones! Graduation parties are a huge deal where I am from; inviting all of your friends, whether they be older or younger, all of your family members that live relatively ‘close’, and of course the people who have been around for years who you’re still unsure how you know them / are related.
With graduation parties comes graduation party outfits. Typically, you’re supposed to ditch your ratty t-shirt and favorite flip-flops for something a bit nicer (at least this is how it is around me). Recently, I was asked to provide a few outfit ideas for Grad Party season and with at least ten coming up on my own calendar already, I figured why not?!
Here are a few of my go-to outfit formulas / ideas for the infamous ‘grad party’ season.
Your favorite Little Black Dress + Lace Ups- One of my go-to outfits when I’m unsure of what to wear but need to look a little bit nicer. Reach for that little black dress (everyone has one) and throw on some lace-up sandals and just like that, you are good to go! You look put together without having to spend too much time deciding what to wear. T-shirt dresses are also the perfect way to go for something simple.
Outfit Details- little black dress: Old Navy, sandals: Target/Mossimo, bracelets: Alex and Ani, Charming Charlie’s
White Jeans + a Fancy Top – Something about white jeans just instantly dresses up an outfit. May can bring cooler temperatures at night so covering up the legs isn’t a terrible idea anyways. Choose a fancier top that will go with your favorite pair of sandals. Such a perfect, classic outfit combo.
Outfit Details- off the shoulder top: TJ Maxx, white jeans: Gap, sandals: Target
A romper + simple Gold Jewelry- Rompers are the easiest clothing piece ever to wear. Simply pop your favorite one on and add a few bangles to your look plus your Jack’s and you are good to go for the occasion.
Outfit Details- romper: Old Navy, denim jacket: Sonoma/Kohl’s, necklace: Nordstrom rack, bracelets: Alex and Ani, sandals: Palm Beach Sandals/DSW
Well, what outfit will you be sporting to your next graduation party?! Let me know in the comments below along with any other questions, comments, or video requests you may have for me! Sending you lots of love and luck to this year’s grads! With love, McKenz.
