I am a total morning person; to the point where I’m not angry about waking up an hour and a half in advance to do my hair all up, perfect my makeup, and have extra time to chat with my blogging babes while I eat breakfast before school. However, I am fully aware that 98% of the population is not on board with me which is why today I’m bringing you the perfect, simple makeup routine for your school mornings. The best part?! It’ll only take you fifteen minutes so you can hit the snooze an extra time each morning! Woohoo.
I’m starting off the look with a fresh face and a strong primer to ensure that my makeup won’t slide around throughout the school day. Today I’m using the Nivea Men’s Shave Balm. Because my skin is still sunkissed and in dire need of some extra moisture I’m mixing a drop of the Cerave Facial Moisturizer with two drops of the Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation and then dabbing this all over my face. By adding in the moisturizer your face is left better hydrated and it dilutes the foundation a bit, making the foundation a lighter consistency and less cakey.
I am then setting my foundation with my go-to face powder, the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder! I am moving in with a shade lighter (than my typical color) of the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer for my under-eyes that need some desperate brightening and the correct shade for any imperfections. This is the best concealer as it provides amazing coverage and does not transfer throughout the day.
To set my under eyes to ensure they don’t crease throughout the day I’m going in with the banana powder from my Anastasia Contour Kit. For contour today, I’m testing out the Wet N Wild Contour Stick and blending it out with my beauty blender before defining it with the Lumene Bronzer. I also added a bit of bronzer to my nose, temples, and the creases of my eyes to warm and define my face overall.
Then, to bring some color back into my face I’m adding some blush from the Elf Blush & Bronzer Duo to the apples of my cheeks. For timely matters, I’m skipping eyeshadow today and going straight to the brows for a quick pencil-in. I’m using the Maybelline Brow Precise to fill and shape them for a natural look.
Highlighter is by far the game changer for this look. When running low on time and opting for a simple look, I always work highlighter into my routine for an overall brightening effect to the face. I’m popping some on my brow bone, inner corner, cupids bow, tip of my nose, and the high points of my cheeks for an overall glow. Today I used the shade ‘Precious Petals’ from Wet N Wild.
To finish off the eyes I popped on a few layers of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. For the lips, I went in with one of my favorite, everyday combos of the Buxom Full On Lipstick in ‘Rouge’ and the Buxom Lipgloss in ‘White Russian’.
And, fifteen minutes later… you’re left with this glowing, natural makeup routine that is perfect for everyday wear at school!!! I totally recommend testing this look out if you’re simply trying to enhance your natural features or are looking for something simple and user-friendly.
Let me know what you think of this look below along with any other questions, comments, or requests you may have for me. I hope you all are enjoying all of my back to school posts + have a lovely day! With love, McKenz

Nice look dear. With a good practice this makeup can be done under 10 minutes, which is great to save time in morning before school. xx
Yes it could! I prefer to take my time in the morning so fifteen minutes was my version simplified lol. Thanks so much for stopping by xoxo
I’m such a morning person too! I love getting my makeup done fast though, because then I can have the rest of my morning to myself. Great post xx.
I love the morning time! Thanks so much Kali for stopping by. ?
I am obsessed with the Maybelline Fit Me concealer, I always have a back up in my vanity drawer so I never run out! And I love the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder as well, It’s so easy to throw in my bag on the off chance that I need to touch up through the day! Great post! xo
Yes! Those are two staple products in my collection that I hardly ever don’t have. Thanks, Brittney! Hope you have a fabulous day.
Love this!! Do you recommend this foundation? I’ve been looking for a new one for school that won’t rub off during the day or get oily/ sticky!
Yes! I have three go to foundations. The Maybelline Matte Fit Me is awesome for everyday wear as it’s not too dry and not too oily. The Wet N Wild had amazing coverage but feels super light weight on the skin. It’s a cheaper option and is so good but doesn’t hold up as well if you’re going to be sweating. The L’Oréal infallible pro Matte is amazing for long wear. If I have school + then cheer for four hours after I’ll wear this because it’s sweat resistant too!!! Hope this helps 🙂
Thanks so much that helps a lot!!! XO
Your welcome!!!!! XOOX
Girl I am so impressed you can do this is 15 min, you literally got it down to a science!! I am so with you on the adding highlighter to your look! It really is the best way to add that extra little quick glow especially on a time crunch!! And I love adding a teeny bit on my eyes it makes me look more alive and less zombie like haha Basically me every morning getting ready for work haha
Ah Jenny it’s actually much faster than you’d think! Once I get into the routine I start getting faster. Highlighter is a lifesaver and I do too typically use eyeshadow on a day to day basis but for today’s sake I went with something simple! Hope you’re having a great day xoxoxox
