Summer To Fall Transition Tips + Outfit Ideas

Summer is officially winding down and I cannot say I’m too disappointed about it. September has got to be one of my favorite months to dress for. Frankly, I am perfectly aware that most people hate those awkward weeks where the mornings are cooler and then it gets warmer throughout the day to the point where you’re always second guessing what to wear in the morning and I completely agree, except for the Summer to Fall transition period that has just arrived.

Dressing in shorts and booties, sandals and jeans, and slowly incorporating my favorite Fall pieces in while still being able to let my feet breath and a little leg show is my favorite. But for the ladies who aren’t so sure how to feel about these next few weeks where tricky temperatures are around, I’ve got you covered! Today I’m sharing a few outfit ideas + tips and tricks to ensure that you can rock September and all your favorite fashion finds!

For the first outfit, I’m wearing one of my favorite striped dresses with a pair of over the knee boots. It’s not exactly warm enough to leave both my arms and legs uncovered and with the idea of slowly transitioning into boots in mind I figured pairing these two together would be perfect. I also popped on some super cute gold jewels to pull the look together.

Don’t put away your Summer tanks just because the temperatures are beginning to drop! Pop a cardigan over your favorite one and some cute booties to match for an instantly pulled together look. It’s perfect for those cooler days when layering is a must.

Wanting to part ways with your shortest Summer shorts but the temperatures being hot and sticky is real, y’all. One of my favorite ways to transition into the cooler months is by wearing skirts! They totally are acceptable if you feel like nobody’s wearing shorts anymore and look adorable with a cargo jacket paired over top. I’m throwing on my espadrilles for the perfect Fall shoe and calling it a day!

Mustard is one of my favorite colors to wear during this period. It compliments the sun-kissed skin that still remains from Summer so beautifully yet has the undertones of the gorgeous hues that Fall brings. I’m wearing this cute off the shoulder with some open toed booties for the perfect way to start working your way out of sandals.

Saved my favorite outfit for last. I’m styling the cutest high-waisted shorts with a classic black turtle neck for a little extra warmth on those brisk mornings. I popped on the cutest hat in the whole world for a little extra something and my black mules to complete the look.
