Fall Fashion: Trends + Outfit Ideas

It’s time to say goodbye to your favorite summer tanks and flip-flops because everyone’s favorite season to dress for is officially here. Fall brings not only all things pumpkin spice but for fashion lovers, all sorts of chunky knits, trendy boots, and bold statements.

Back in February, the most talked about event in the fashion industry, New York Fashion Week took place where designers of all sorts were able to showcase their collections for the upcoming fall season. These pieces ultimately set the bar for all sorts of trends that will filter down into the retailers that a majority of today’s society buy from.

As far as I’m concerned, the clearance racks of summer’s favorites are ready to be cleared because these fun fall trends are ready to make their mark. It seems like the shade of the season is mustard. Seen everywhere, this gorgeous hue is sure to make a statement on any skin tone and looks beautiful paired with fall’s go-to colors. This season it’s all about the sleeves. Whether it be a prominent bell sleeve, an effortless off the shoulder, or a little bit of classic roughing, it looks as though designers are aiming all their attention at the arms for a look we haven’t seen since the seventies when they were made popular. Speaking of the seventies, if you’re a fan of the bell bottom then you’re in luck. They are back and better than ever. If those are not your cup of tea than no worries, raw hems on jeans is all the rage as they make a fun yet subtle statement as well as a bit of embroidery featuring all the gorgeous fall hues that become so apparent around this time of year.

Of course, the footwear could not go unnoticed; over the knee boots, open-toed booties, and mules of all sorts are making their mark on and off the runway this season. Plus, we certainly couldn’t forget about the essentials. It seems as if the survival guide of the season consists of a chunky knit turtleneck, a quilted vest for those brisk mornings, and a good ole pair of riding boots that will certainly never go out of style.

Whether you’re sporting the basics or getting your hands on a few bold statement pieces that this season’s trends bring to the runway you are sure to look fabulous this fall.
