Well, it looks like we’re officially on to the last favorites post of 2017! I cannot believe how fast it has come and gone. This month has been nothing short of crazy (as I say every month!) but I am so thankful to have spent so much time with friends and family celebrating the holidays with the people I love most. Today I’m here to wrap up this months happenings, outfits, and everything in between.
As far as fashion goes this month, I have been keeping my favorites on repeat. My black over the knee boots from DSW have been an absolute essential these last few months; they pair so perfectly with my everyday style and look so chic. I’ve also been loving block heeled booties, especially my cheetah print pair from Target. They are super fun and instantly give an outfit that ‘cool girl’ vibe which I adore. Aside from the shoes, I’ve been layering up with some of my favorite sweaters, flannels, and scarves to bear the unusually chilly temperatures we’ve been having this month! I’ve also adored wearing my Kendra Scott that I received for Christmas last year; it pairs perfectly with my Winter layers and is such an eye catcher.
This month for makeup, I went back to my roots and dedicated a whole week at a time to each one of my eyeshadow palettes to ensure that I show them all the same amount of love. If you’ve been keeping up with my ‘Makeup of The Week’s’ lately, you probably know that the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette was by far my favorite one of the month… there’s something about rose gold shadows that get me every time! Also, non-makeup related, I’ve been loving the scent Warm Vanilla Sugar from Bath and Body Works once again; it’s been a favorite for years now.
This month in my Bible I went back to reading a single book at a time and this month I choose Ecclesiastes. The verses throughout it are beautiful and really reminded me of the true reason for the holiday season. I of course, have been appreciating Proverbs 31’s verses as per usual. With cheer dying down a bit this month, I have been left with so much more time on my hands to read and doodle in my Bible which has most definitely been a nice change of pace.
This month, I again watched Riverdale week to week on television until the season ended just a couple of weeks ago. After that show ended I was feeling kind of sad so aside from the twenty Christmas movies Madison and I watched on repeat I started The Carrie Diaries for the second time. There’s something just so powerful about that show. Every time I watch an episode I feel inspired to take a step further into the fashion industry. Not to mention it makes you wish you worked at a magazine, lived in the city, and had tight blonde curls.
This month I had aimed to post nearly every single day but due to a few spontaneous trips to New York after my aunt passed away in late November, I was left with little time to pre plan posts and shoot! Nonetheless, I am still very pleased to have been able to post nearly seventy percent of the days this month, especially during such a busy time of year. I was able to up my numbers in a few areas and performed well this month leaving me a very happy girl as I finish out the year. I typically set up goals in my monthly favorites posts but this month I don’t plan on it as I want to dedicate a whole entire blog post on them for 2018 as a whole! A clean slate calls for a whole new, motivated, and inspired McKenzie as far as blogging goes. Double YAY!
A few other highlights of the month include celebrating the wonderful woman my Aunt Cath was, making not one not two but three weekend trips to New York, cheering on the football team for their third straight state win, watching the basketball team week to week, heading to the temple for a fun little visit, and celebrating Christmas with my family. I’d love to hear about your month in the comments below along with any other questions, comments, or requests you may have for me. Thanks so much for stopping by; talk to ya soon! With love, McKenz
