Woohoo, I’ve got you all set for your next travel adventure! On Monday we talked carry-ons, yesterday we talked airport fashion, and today we’re talking packing. I’ve rounded up some of my best tips and tricks for a stress-free packing experience this summer. I hope you find them helpful!
There’s nothing that stresses me out quite like not knowing what’s in my toiletry bag! I tend to keep everything in this foldable case but each time I pull it out I re-check to see what I’m working with. This Travelon case makes it super easy to organize things. I keep my shower products in one section, moisturizers and lotions in another, and makeup products in another.
Unless I’m headed somewhere for longer than fourteen days, I’ve completely out-ruled full size products. Travel sized is the way to go as they are easy to pack and you never end up needing the full size anyway. When packing, it’s always a fun idea to pack some of those sample products that are come in your monthly subscriptions/Sephora orders- they are small and offer the perfect amount of product.
Ever since I received the Travelon Flat-Out Hanging Toiletry Kit, my traveling game has significantly changed. I used to bring several small bags and it stressed me out to no end + they took up so much space! I love this bag as I can fit everything beauty related into it! Not to mention, it lies flat on the bottom of my suitcase which means it’s easy to pack things on top of.
I mentioned in this post that I’ve stopped carrying my Large Long Champ when traveling simply because I prefer a backpack as my carry-on. However, I still like to have a bag once I’ve reached my destination! I reach for my Long Champ as the nylon bag easily folds down and can be packed in a suitcase pocket. I highly recommend choosing a purse that can be condensed into your luggage.
I’m not exactly sure what kind of suitcase I have but I’ve had it forever and love it! One of my best tips is to utilize every pocket available. I love using the outside two pockets and the main netted one on the inside for undergarments, socks, swimsuits, etc! Don’t let this space go unused, you’d be surprised how much you can fit in them.
Pack your shoes towards the bottom-
For my trip to Wisconsin I tend to pack a lot of shoes for various occasions. I prefer to keep my shoes towards the bottom. This way anything that may be on the bottoms isn’t dirtying your clothing. Plus, it’s easy to roll your clothing on top of the layer of shoes.
Which of course reminds me that you should definitely be rolling your clothes. This is the best way to keep them wrinkle free and is an awesome way to save space in your suitcase.
In this blog post, I talked all about my Travelon Courier Backpack. One of my favorite features about this bag is the strap on the back that allows it to be worn on the back or on your suitcase handle. This is by far the most efficient way to move through the airport when you’re sick of carrying a backpack.
Aside from these tips, I can only suggest not to think too much about it. I know so many people who allow packing to stress them out, and for what?! You’re likely headed on a vacation or somewhere relaxing so pack what’s necessary and a couple of your favorite outfits and you’re good to go! It will all work out in the end; chances are you really only need a few good bikinis in the summer anyway!
Where are you headed next?! After I get home from Wisconsin I’ll be getting ready for my stay in the Outer Banks- I could not be more excited. Let me know below along with any other questions, comments, or requests you may have for me. Safe travels to you! With love, McKenz
