There was a time where I considered myself an equal parts fashion and beauty blogger. As you can tell from recent months, that isn’t necessarily true anymore. However, with a $50 Ulta gift card in hand I was able to do some damage and pick up a few products that I have been dying to try.
I decided to switch things up a bit and film a first impressions get ready with me/makeup tutorial. I’m super excited about it and I hope you are too!

I tried out almost all of the new products I picked up at Ulta earlier this week in today’s video. Here are my in-depth first impressions of these products. I was so impressed with all of them!
I’ve ben wanting to try this product for months now but have never gotten around to it. Beauty gurus rave about this product and for obvious reasons. It was super affordable and the applicator makes it super easy to apply under the eyes/ It was a full coverage concealer that blended nicely. I experienced just a bit of creasing as the day went on; however, my skin does this with every concealer!
This product has been circulating around the beauty community for years and years now so I finally decided to give it a try. I simply wet my brush with this before applying eyeshadow and noticed a world of a difference. My shadows were extremely pigmented and blended insanely smoothly. I have a feeling me and this product are going to be besties this school year.
Morphe 9B Bronzed Babe Eyeshadow Palette
I was dying to try the Morphe 35O palette but they were sold out in stores AND online. I settled for this palette as I probably didn’t need a palette with 32 eyeshadows anyway. The shadows are stunning and all warm, orange-based shades. They made my blue eyes pop like crazy, were super pigmented, and blended well! Two thumbs up for me.
Essence Eyebrow Designer Pencil
My brows are hard to shape as they are thin, sparse, and desperately needing to be waxed. I picked up this pencil because I wanted something cheap and I ended up loving it. It’s the perfect shade and didn’t give my brows that drawn on look which is what I was afraid of. I’m super pleased with this and will definitely be repurchasing when I’m finished with it.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Plumping Mascara
Received this mascara for PR purposes and am really glad I did. It does an amazing job at lengthening and separating the lashes. Paired with another volumizing mascara, I think this product is a keeper! Oh, it’s also not stubborn when it comes to makeup remover which is a major plus.
This rosewater spray smells amazing and was the perfect addition to my makeup after finishing it. It kept my face looking and feeling refreshed and hydrated. I didn’t feel powdery all day which is a major plus!
I can’t lie, it actually felt good to sit down and chat about makeup for a change. What did you think of this look?! I’d love to hear below along with any other questions, comments, or requests below. Hope you enjoyed today’s post; talk to you tomorrow!
With love, McKenz
