The first day of school is right around the corner for most of us! It’s a time of year that I always look forward to. This year I’m leaning a little more towards summer’s side but nonetheless, I am super excited to be sharing with you a few tips and tricks on how to look your best for the big, first day! Plus, I’m sharing an outfit idea that I think would be perfect for the occasion.
Nothing screams first day ready like some volume in that hair. I’ve been ditching the hot tools lately and reaching for my Dry Bar velcro rollers. They come in a set of six and take just a few minutes to put in. I like to leave them in as I get ready and after taking them out your hair has got some serious body to it. I’ll definitely be using this trick on second-day hair once the school year rolls around.
These Max Complexion Correction Pads from Peter Thomas Roth are the easiest way to cleanse skin, clear up acne, and clear out pores. If you’ve been breaking a sweat while preparing for a summer sport than I would totally recommend a product like this to help keep your skin fresh and clean!
Moisturizing your skin days in advance is a must! I’m a huge fan of the Neutrogena Water Gel as it hydrates while quenching my dry summer skin from all that sun. Don’t neglect this step or it will show when applying your makeup later on.
If you didn’t get the golden tan you hoped for over the summer, fake it till you make it, girl! Throw some bronzer on your temples, nose, and below your cheekbones and you’ll be ready to go!
Highlighter is the easiest way to give off the glowy finish. Whether you want to make it look like you’ve been sunkissed or simply soaking up the happiness that is summer, a bright highlight on the high points of your face will leave you looking stunning on the first day. This is by far one of my favorite steps when wanting to look a little more awake – yep, in case you forgot, back to school means back to the alarm…
Before the first day, I like to paint my nails. Something about a freshly painted manicure gives off the vibe that you’ve got your life together. Unfortunately, I couldn’t paint mine for this post as I do have practice tomorrow but for the first day, I will definitely be adding a coat to them!
Although beauty tricks are one way to be first day ready, the true way is through the outfit!
I started with a simple dress as I’m totally one to go a little more fancy for the big day. This blue one can easily be dressed up or down. I kept things fun with a bright pink pair of fan earrings that coordinated perfectly with my pom pom sandals. I love these two together as they provide a bold pop of color while still keeping things casual and comfortable.
Outfit Details- dress: TJ Maxx, earrings: Walmart, sandals: Target, cuff: Target
