Shopping on a budget is hard; I get it! Especially when you’re trying to stay up to date on the latest trends and fashion finds. However, it’s not impossible. In fact, a majority of the styles I share to you on a day-to-day basis were bought off the sale rack, were an awesome clearance find, I’ve been wearing for years or were passed down to me.
Today I’m sharing an outfit idea with you that is sort of playing off Monday’s blog post where we chatted about summer to fall transition. This outfit is definitely perfect for those weeks where you’re slowly working your way into the fall season.
Oh, and before I begin, I want to mention that this entire outfit was styled under $50! The best part is that the pieces in this outfit are stylish yet can still be paired several different ways making them even more of a bargain for the price.
Starting off with an olive-green, square neck tank from Old Navy. I love this tank top as the color says fall but the style is perfect for the never-ending humidity we’ve been having. I scored this tank top for $3.49 on the clearance rack and know that it will be put to good use as fall rolls around, especially with a cardigan popped over the top of it.
Boot cut jeans are such a favorite of mine. I found this pair from Plato’s Closet. They were originally $12.50 but were an additional 50% off when I brought them to the register making them $6.25 – such a bargain for a pair of jeans as flattering as these ones. I would definitely recommend checking out Plato’s Closet for affordable, gently used items that are in style!
Shoes were the hardest part for this look because I knew I wanted a black mule. I’ve found awesome deals on block heels, sandals, and mules before (especially at Target) but there are few times when I splurge on a pair that I know will last me a while and that I will get good use out of. This pair is from Target and is $29.99, making them the most expensive piece of this look. Keep in mind though that shoes can be worn over and over again.
For jewelry, I’m wearing this $4 pair of statement earrings from Walmart. They are so cute and instantly dress up an outfit. I can’t wait to wear these some more + the black tassel looked so cute paired with the mules. This puts our total at $43.74.
Unfortunately, the cuff I’m wearing wasn’t intended to be a part of the ‘under $50’ portion, but I figured I’d throw it on anyway as I’m sure everyone has a few gold bracelets lying around. My necklace is a simple ‘M’ initial from The Silver Heron and was a gift, therefore I didn’t include it towards the total.
And just like that, you’ve got a simple yet stylish outfit idea for the fall transition period. If you’re looking for ways to shop on a budget, drop your questions below, I’d be happy to spill all my secrets! Thanks so much for reading along today.
With love, McKenz
