Makeup Tutorial Featuring My New Favorite Palette
Aside from Wednesday’s January Favorites blog post, it feels like it’s been forever since I’ve sat down to talk makeup with you all! With so many people messaging me and commenting on my Instagram posts asking to start incorporating more beauty related posts here on StyledbyMcKenz I figured now would be the perfect time to do a little makeup tutorial.
Two weeks ago I was finally able to get my hands on the Morphe Jaclyn Hill palette and I have had so much fun playing with it and creating pretty looks. This palette has single-handedly sparked my love for makeup all over again and I’ve, surprisingly, been motivated to get out of bed five minutes earlier each morning to spend time creating a look I love – it’s been extremely refreshing. Today I’m sharing a look I created using my new palette for a day of blog shooting. I hope you enjoy!

- Anastasia Contour Kit – This palette never goes on sale but it’s currently 50% off making it only $20! I use the banana powder and contour shades every day. These pans have so much product in them – this palette will last you forever,
- Anastasia Sundipped Glow Kit – Bit the bullet and finally picked up a glow kit in December. I adore using this to achieve a beautiful glow.
- Urban Decay Primer Potion – The only eyeshadow primer I’ll use. Keeps those shadows in tact all day and looking as vibrant as ever.
- Maybelline Color Tattoo – I always apply this over my primer. This cream eyeshadow acts as a base making my eyeshadows so pigmented.
- Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette – I’ve been trying to get my hands on this palette for ages and they finally had it in stock. I have loved getting to use this eyeshadow palette the last few weeks. The shadows are so crazy pigmented and blend like an absolute dream. I went with warm shadows for today’s look.
- Mac Fix Plus Setting Spray – This helps make those shimmery shadows POP! I love using this to wet my brush before applying eyeshadow.
- Maybelline Tattoo Studio Brow Pomade – This is a new find for me and I’ve been loving it. I realized that my brows have been looking a little sparse lately so a brow pomade was just what I needed. I like this better than the Anastasia Dip Brow which I used for years because it leaves them looking a little more natural.
- Maybelline Great Lash Mascara – One of my favorite mascaras. I love this for lengthening and separating the lashes.
- Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara – I’ve been loving this mascara as well. Layered with another mascara it’s been awesome!
- Tarte Color Splash Lipstick – This lipstick is so little and cute. I love the size of it and the color is perfect for every day wear.
