Holy crap how is it already the end of February?! I cannot believe how fast this month went by. It’s been full of good fashion and exciting blogging adventures. I don’t want to spoil any of the fun so I’m going to stop talking, well typing, and get right to it!
February has been tricky to navigate as far as temperatures go. I swear its snow one day and sixty + sunshine the next. I’ve found that my favorite looks from the month were different from my usual sweater + jeans combo. I’ve been loving fun paper bag pants. Not only are they super trendy but they are extremely comfortable too. Paired with a black turtleneck, I’ve found that almost anything looks good. My favorite one is from Hollister and I swear I’ve had it forever + wear it at least once a week.
The few spring teaser days we had this month I dressed up in something pretty, taking full advantage of all the dresses I’ve been sent recently. The two above are from MDS Collections which has quickly become one of my favorite brands for formal wear. Shoe favorites of the month are my new Dolce Vita leopard slides and any pair of mules when the weather allows for it.
My accessory favorites aren’t much different from last month. My gold Fossil watch + Mantra Band has been my go-to arm candy combination as it’s simple yet stylish. This M necklace I won in a giveaway and have loved wearing with high neck tops and turtlenecks. It’s a fun addition to a plain outfit.
Y’all know my clip on earring collection is growing by the month but this time around I found myself reaching for my gold ‘gongs’ from Walmart and my $2 stars from SheIn that you all seem to love. I just received some fun new tassels from Sugarfix that I know I’m going to be wearing a ton in March!
Workout wear is a new addition to my monthly favorites as I’ve found that you all really seem to love seeing more casual outfits. It’s no secret that I love to dress up for a typical school day but I do kick back and wear leggings and sneaks on the weekend + for baseball workouts.
Joy Lab from Target has been my absolute weakness as of late. I shared a few new sets in my huge spring haul that went up Monday and you all really seemed to love them. They are the easiest pairing and look so good with a quarter zip.
Jaclyn Hill Palette – I picked this palette up towards the end of January and have been in love with it ever since. It has a wide array of colors which is perfect for creating all sorts of looks. The shadows are so pigmented and blend beautifully!
Adrell Whispies – These are by far my favorite lashes and I’ve raved about them countless times on the blog before. I use the 105 style when dressing up for events or shooting important blog looks! The pairs last forever if you take care of them _ I’ve used my current pair at least ten different times and they still look great. I know I’ll be wearing these even more over the next couple of weeks.
Buxom Full On Plumping Lip Gloss in ‘Sugar’ – If you’ve been around the blog since the beginning you’d know how much I love this stuff. Buxom is by far my favorite lip brand and this gloss in particular has been my go-to lately. I love the shade and the formula is unmatched!
Not Your Mother’s Dry Shampoo – I’ve used this dry shampoo for years now but I’ve been on such a dry shampoo kick recently that I figured it was worth mentioning in this month’s favorites. The green bottle is my favorite as it adds volume rather than the blue bottle that adds texture which has been perfect for my fresh-cut!
Peter Thomas Roth Green Relief Oil – Mentioned this in last months’ favorites but it’s so good that I’m throwing it in my February favorites too. I received this for a campaign and have loved it. This oil works like a spot treatment, reducing inflammation and redness in hours! Definitely a must have for teenagers like me.
Jergens Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer – I’ve never been one to use self tan until I discovered this stuff a few months ago. It’s not a super harsh self tanner, just a gradual color moisturizer which is perfect for me. It has minimal smell, doesn’t come off on your sheets and isn’t patchy at all!
Neutrogena Hydro Boost – I tried this moisturizer for the first time a year ago and still love it to this day. It is so refreshing and has kept my dehydrated skin smooth and soft throughout these cold winter days.
Been spending a lot of time praying for peace this month. More than anything I’d like a peace of mind throughout this stage of life and in talking to God I’ve almost felt that that’s the key to achieving that peace.
Jane the Virgin. That’s all. That’s it. I’m typically not one to binge watch but within two weeks I finished this entre series. I’m definitely #TeamRafael and can hardly wait for Season 5 to come back on tv!
As far as music goes I’m still on my Lady Gage kick… I mean who isn’t?! Cannot even begin to explain how flawless her and Bradley Cooper’s Oscars performance was. Madison and I rewatched it at least a dozen time!
In January I was moved by how amazing my month was. Not only did it start to feel like things were starting to pay off but I felt proud of myself which is something I don’t take time to do often enough. February has been nothing short of just that.
For one, I hit record monthly views which was huge. I worked with ten plus brands and was able to openly talk about the collaboration and pitching process in my ‘Spilling The Blogger Tea‘ series. I lined up some amazing collaborations for the month of March including tons of exciting prom content. Almost forgot to mention that I was published in my first ever online magazine which was so incredibly exciting. As many of you know, my post-college dream is to work for a fashion magazine and this felt like just the start of something spectacular. And as we speak I’m headed back from New York City where I just spent the day shooting with Dormify for their Back To School 2019 collection.
All at once it feels like everything is starting to pick up for me and I’m overwhelmed by the immense amount of love and support you all have provided as it happens – I am so eternally grateful!
In February I didn’t stick with my posting habit on Instagram but I did with my story habit which made me so happy! Once I start something, I never want to stop so in March I’m going to try to keep up the same story habit of posting at least once each day. I would love to try to post every day on Instagram in March but I know that with baseball starting up, things are going to be crazy hectic! We’ll play it by ear I suppose… I also want to hit 4.5K on Instagram because the road to 5K is all too real.
Aside from the week I had the flu, I really kicked some booty with my posting grind and I’m praying that I’m able to do the same in March. Again, I know things are about to get crazy busy for me but it excites me so much to be doing what I love and I want to continue growing this platform to be the best it can be!
This month absolutely flew by. I spent a majority of my weekends doing blog related things. Nothing too exiting has come of the month aside from baseball workouts twice a week and senior night for cheer. Tomorrow begins baseball tryouts which means next Monday I’m back to practice everyday after school and games three times a week. I couldn’t be more excited to be around all my favorite people for one last season of managing!
School’s chugging along… just a few more months and I’ll be getting ready to graduation! That feels so surreal to even be typing. What a year of growth it’s been already and it’s only March.
Well, I’ll leave you with that. I hope this month you’re inspired to tackle your goals and set your dreams big! The only person stopping you is you and that’s a powerful lesson I’m learning. Cheers to another amazing month and an even better one on the way!
With love, McKenz
Nice!
Thanks!
