Still going strong with the swimsuit sharing. Forget the Nordstrom Sale, I can’t possibly think about sweaters while we are still in July! So many of you requested that I review a few high waisted bathing suits. I have a handful from Dokotoo that I was able to wear and review on my beach trip last week. I’m super excited to share them with you and think you’re going to love them!
This swimsuit is probably my favorite of the four high waisted suits because it fit me like a glove. Despite them all being the same style, each one fit just a bit differently. This triangle top is so cute and has larger cups than the white one. However, triangle tops tend to fit a bit snugger than other styles so if you have a larger chest, I would definitely recommend sizing up. The pom-pom detailing is such a fun touch.
The bottoms are the same on all four suits. A high waisted, full coverage bottom that has mesh paneling as well as a pom-pom trim along the waistline. I love these bottoms because not only are they insanely flattering but they are a bit more conservative. Tons of you asked for me to test out this style and I’m so glad I gave it a go!
I wanted to give this swimsuit a go in the white because white makes you look extra tan. Not to mention, the quality if always iffy on a white swimsuit. This one is not the best but it also wasn’t the worst. For starters, the top is a lot tinier than on the red one. The cups themselves are smaller so you do have a little side boob happening. The pads in this one felt a bit cheaper but for the most part, you’re getting what you pay for.
The bottoms on this one are the exact same fit and style as the ones from above. I was nervous that they’d be on the see-through side because they are white but I had no problems with these. Madison is wearing the same style but in black for this photo and our fun matching sunnies are from the Westend collection at Discount Glasses.
I’m a huge fan of this suit because of the top. It’s an underwire, cupped bikini top so it has a lot more structure to it compared to the previous two suits. The straps on this top are adjustable and it’s got a hook in the back. This top is basically like wearing a bra so I found that it fit really well. I’m wearing a size small which fits like a B cup.
The bottoms are a rainbow stripe that is so cute. They are a bit lower but still very flattering. If you’re not a huge fan of your mid-drift, this style is perfect for you. My adorable floppy hat is from TJ Maxx. It was under $15 and is my go-to hat for when my face has gotten a bit too much sun.
Switching things up from the pom-poms to tassels! One of my favorite things about Dokotoo is that they do trim swimsuits really well. They are awesome quality for the price and are crazy cute. The top on this one is on the smaller side because of it’s cut. It’s got a scoop neck and just one strap holding it all together. The straps are adjustable but even so, there is a chance you’ll still have some side boob in this suit. If you have a larger chest, or your top isn’t necessarily proportional to your bottom, I would pass on this suit.
The bottoms are that same mesh, netted style that I love so much. They are a full-coverage fit so no cheek showing here! I would not recommend putting this suit in the wash. The tassels aren’t extremely well sewn on so I’m worried that if I were to put this in the wash, it would eat them up! I’ll be hand washing this suit.
Overall, I was super pleased with these suits from Dokotoo and was so glad that I gave this high waisted, full coverage style a try. So many of you requested this type of swimsuit so I hope you found this post helpful. I’ll be back in a couple of days to share a few more suits from Dokotoo that are all different styles! Until then…
With love, McKenz
