I’m back with what will likely be my last swimsuit review of the summer. On Tuesday I shared some suits from Dokotoo that were all high waisted. Today I’m testing out four more suits from them that are a variety of styles and giving you my real, honest thoughts on them. Some were hits, some were misses. Stay tuned to find out!
The top of this suit is a super cute smocked style. It’s similar to a few of the tube tops I have because it’s on the longer side, making it fit more like a tankini. The straps are both adjustable and removable which makes this awesome for both tanning and swimming. I was very impressed with the quality of this top as it definitely has some structure to it.
The bottoms are a high waisted, full-coverage fit. Not only are they conservative but they are super cute too. The little ruffle adds a fun little detail without making you look unnecessarily large in that area. My cute little floppy hat is from TJ Maxx!
This suit is without a doubt my least favorite from Dokotoo. And I’m still a big fan of the top, so it being the only dud isn’t the end of the world. The top has two adorable knots in it. I don’t like the kind of bikini tops that tie in the front because they are rather unflattering on me and they constantly need to be readjusted. However, this top gives off that same look without having those same problems. The straps are a self-tie so it can accommodate to just about any chest size.
I’m not a fan of these bottoms at all. For starters, they are too big. They tried to do a lettuce, frilly hem but there’s too much material on my rear end so it looks bunchy and just plain odd. The front is a bit better but still ill-fitting. However, I will say that this suit looks a lot better on than it did lying on the ground. It’s not the worst suit for the price, but I personally would not repurchase it.
This is another suit that I’m on the fence about. I love the cut and fit of this pattern mixing top. It fits super well and I love the small cut out. The straps are thick making them very sturdy and they are adjustable as well. They are removable only on the back half allowing them to be crossed if you prefer.
However, similar to the other suit, I’m not a huge fan of these bottoms. They are rather low cut and on the cheekier side. The bottoms have a little cut out along the sides too. Maybe it’s just the cut or the pattern mixing, but I didn’t love the way these fit or looked on me. I’m wearing a size small for reference.
This suit is probably my favorite of all the suits I have from Dokotoo. Something about it is just so flattering not to mention the quality is amazing! The top fits identical to how a sports bra would fit so it’s super comfortable. No self-ties, adjustable straps, removable straps, etc. which makes this the perfect suit to be active in. You could easily dive under waves, play water sports, jet ski, and more in this suit without having to worry about your top flying off. It’s just that secure.
The bottoms are a high waisted cut with a full coverage bottom. They are appropriate and the perfect snugness so that you don’t lose your bottoms in the water! Oh, and this one makes you look super tan which is a plus. Under $22 and a definite steal!

I’ve definitely had a few misses from Dokotoo but I’ve had way more hits to make up for that. I hope you enjoyed today’s review and all of the swimwear reviews I’ve shared this season. Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to see from me in the comments below. Until next time.
With love, McKenz
