This evening I sit in bed typing what will be my last blog post from home for a long while. It’s crazy to think that today’s my last day of summer. Time has flown and yet it has dragged. I cannot even begin to explain the feelings and thoughts spiraling throughout me. All I know is that I’m super grateful for this season of life and the support system around me.
If you know me personally or have been keeping up with me via vlogs and/or Instagram stories you would know that my family is my rock when it comes to the blog. They keep me afloat, taking turns helping me with photos, videos, and everything in between. I will be so lost without them and know that the blog will undertake a huge adjustment as I navigate the blogging waters hundreds of miles away from them.
Last week I wrapped up my final photoshoot of the summer. I headed out to dinner with my parents and we shot these three Express Factory looks as we waited for our table. Mom was lying on the ground as people stared, Dad looking at us like we were crazy despite having done the same for me before. It was a fun way to end my shooting time in Maryland and I’m so excited to share the outfit ideas with you today.
It’s sort of hard for me to catergorize these looks. They aren’t really back to school. They aren’t really summer. They aren’t yet fall. I’m not really sure what they are but I know that I like them and that they mark a really special memory of being home. Let’s hop right in.
I found this velvet cami at my local Express Factory and knew I had to have it. It’s got the cutest little wrap detailing and peplum hem. It’s flattering and cutsey while having just a splash of sexy. The back has a few dainty straps. I paired it with these high waisted jeans. They’ve got the most adorable raw hem and just enough rips. I’m not really a distressed denim kind of girl so this amount of rips was perfect for me. I threw on black heels to keep the look classy.

I have to admit, I’m an outfit repeater. Last month when I collaborated with Express Factory, I found myself reaching for this sweater dress. It’s got the cutest off the shoulder little hem with ruffles that line the front. There’s endless ways to style it. I picked it up in black last month so when I saw the off white on clearance this month, I knew I had to snag it! I love this with little straw wedges for the sumemr to fall transition time like I have on here. However, add tights, over the knee boots, and a fun hat and you’ve got the perfect look come October.

Something about camo has been really screaming my name these last few months. Express Factory has been killing the game with this print specifically! I saw this cute relaxed tee and had to get my hands on it. It’s so fun tucked into this denim skirt but would be great with your favorite pair of jeans or even leggings! I love tops like this one where you can do a lot with them. For shoes I went with classic gold sandals. I would’ve loved to accessorize more for this look but truthfully, in this moment, 90% of it was already packed. Bear with me.

Well, that’s a wrap for today. I’ll be honest, I imagine these next couple of weeks will be kind of sporadic. I have every intention of continuing the blog throughout my college years but know that it will take a couple of weeks to find my groove. Thanks for hanging in there with me!
With love, McKenz
