First Day Of Freshman Year

Yesterady marked my first day of college! Freshman year at Kent State University has been a success so far. I’m having fun, making new friends, meeting tons of people, and loving the few classes I’ve had. I don’t have class on Friday so I’m taking advantage of this day off to share a little Get Ready With Me from my first day yesterday. I decided to do a little vlog style and took a few first day photos to send to my mom! Figured I’d go ahead and share them both here since it’s become a back to school tradition here on StyledbyMcKenz.

First Day Outfit

On Wednesday, my roomies and I headed to the local Marshalls; we found so many awesome deals there including the jumpsuit I have on. I picked it up on final clearance for $6 and it was the perfect first day outfit. Jumpsuits are the easiest way to look cute while still being comfortable. Temperatures just grazed the seventies yesterday and it rained most of the morning as I walked to and from classes so I’m glad I went with a jumpsuit rather than a romper or dress. Jeans are just too basic of a first day outfit for my taste.

I decided to wear my little yellow Target flats because my feet couldn’t take another day of walking in platforms around campus. I totaled seven miles in these cuties; they weren’t the greatest but they could’ve been worse too. I threw on yellow earrings and a couple bangels to match. I loved getting to sport my school’s colors on the first day without wearing anything that said ‘Kent’ on it.

Overall, my first day went really well. I had three classes that were relatively easy to get to. I found people to talk with in each one and enjoyed each professor. They were super sweet and all of my classes seemed genuinely interesting which was a relief. Looking forward to my fashion classes on Monday!
