I’ve never really been a sweats kind of girl. I get that they are cozy and comfortable for lounging around but I’ve never been able to find a pair that really speaks to me. Around this time last year I was introduced to joggers and I started dabbling into them. My sister had a pair that I liked to steal from time to time and I received a pair from Buff Bunny that I liked to wear here and there. But still, they were pants that I rarely reached for.
That is, until I discovered Express joggers. Maybe it’s because I’m a college student but something about the ‘sweats’ lifestyle is suddenly really appealing to me. On days I don’t have classes and am cooped up in my room studying and working on blog stuff, I find myself reaching for them like crazy! I bought my first pair of Express joggers a few months back and have slowly been adding to my collection. The best part… they added matching little crewnecks so now my love for matching sets can be taken past the gym and into my day-day outfits. Exciting, right?!
Although I’m still not sold on the sweats to class concept (I am a fashion major, ya know!) I totally love the concept of comfy clothes that are cute enough to be worn out and about if need be. Today I’m sharing three of my favorite cozy looks from Express. If you’re anything like me, or you’ve been hip to the sweatpants lifestyle for a while now, I think you’re really going to love this spin on sweats!
Before I met Express, I also wasn’t a camo lover but I will admit, they have persuaded me to love so many styles I wouldn’t usually reach for. These camo joggers were my first pair of Express joggers. I instantly fell in love with them! Not only are these the softest material you’ll ever feel they are the perfect weight— not too thin, but not thick enough to leave you sweating. You can wear them full length or pull them up to the ankles like I’m wearing here. I had to grab the matching crewneck for this look. I mean come on; does a matching set get any cuter than this?
Actually, it does get cuter. I’ve been on the cheetah/leopard print kick for months now. I’ll be honest, when I started seeing brands roll out the zebra, I had mixed feelings. The print totally brings me back to my Limited Too and Justice days but when I saw this set it screamed “pick me!”. So naturally, I added it to my cart. I love the grey and tan color of this one—I think this combination makes the zebra a little less intimidating than your typical black and white. I couldn’t love this combo more and think my adorable grey slip on sneakers from Off The Beaten Track are the perfect casual shoe to pair with one of these sets.
I’m a matching set lover but I know not everyone is. If the pattern on pattern isn’t quite your taste, try something similar to this look. I couldn’t help myself so I grabbed the joggers in black this month too. I figured I needed a solid pair that I could mix and match with a variety of tops. You could dress these up a bit too if you really wanted to get creative. I, however, added the same camo top from before to keep things cozy. These crewnecks are the same weight and material as the bottoms. They are super soft but not super heavy so layering something over top or underneath is definitely an idea to add a little extra warmth.
Express is currently having buy one get one 50% off on all of their joggers so run and grab these while they are still in stock. I also have the green camo pair with rips in them and think they are such a fun pair— not as versatile as some of the ones I shared but definitely a cute piece for traveling and lounging. You can get an extra 15% off your Express purchase if you use the code ‘9445’ for 15% off your entire purchase. (Some exclusions apply!)
I seriously cannot wait for the weekend so I can curl up in one of these outfits and watch a Hallmark movie in bed! What movie should I pop on? I want to hear all your Christmas movie recommendations below. Hope you loved these cozy Express looks!
With love, McKenz
