Truthfully, it wasn’t until college that I became a huge fan of black pants. I’ve always been someone who has reached for a classic pair of blue jeans but upon finding two pairs of black jeans at Express this summer, I’ve been a *changed* woman. I popped on in to Express Factory this week to shop their 50% off sale and walked out with some awesome pieces including three different pairs of black bottoms. All three pairs serve different purposes and yet are perfect for this time of year! Here’s why and how I’m styling them.
If you’ve been keeping up with my vlogs, you know I’ve been looking for a good pair of leggings for ages now. Not workout leggings, true leggings that can be worn with my everyday clothes like this sweater and boots! I stumbled upon this suede pair at the outlet and fell in love. These are the softest leggings ever and are exactly what I was looking for. I love that you can pair them casually or dress them up because of their material.
Sweaters were $19 so I had to snag this cutie while it was available! I love the three tones to it and am a sucker for an oversized fit. This perfectly covers your butt which is perfect when wearing leggings. I added a pair of coordinating over the knee boots and a beanie to keep things cozy. I love throwing on hats as an extra accessory and this one is just the cutest! With 50% off I believe this hat was under $12 which is a great price point/gift idea for something like secret santa!

Leather pants?! What can I say, I am a changed woman! This is a style I admittedly would typically stray from but my blogging bestie Sophie has a pair and she totally convinced me that I could pull these off. I tried them on and sort of fell in love with the way they effortlessly look dressy. I’m wearing a 00 and although they fit my waist like a glove, they definitely are a little looser in other areas of my legs. Because of this, I felt cuffing them and adding a taller pair of black heels would help complement these pants and elongate my legs.
I really didn’t want to come home with another leopard sweater but I just couldn’t resist this one. Not only was it super soft but it looked extra adorable paired with these pants. I love the way this feminine sweater plays off of the edgy bottoms. This is perfect for a a holiday event you don’t need to look super dressy for but want to step up the typical jeans + sweater combination.

Black jeans, baby! You didn’t think this post would be complete without them—did you?! Not a chance. I have two pairs from here as I mentioned earlier: one raw hem ankle length, and one ripped pair. I decided it was time to pick up a good ole full length, high waisted pair of black jeans. I cannot even begin to explain how much I wear black jeans at school. College calls for black denim for a multitude of different occasions so I highly suggest taking advantage of their jeans sale and grabbing a pair now. I size up with black denim— they tend to fit a bit snugger.
This sweater I grabbed in a third color because that’s how much I love the fit of it. It’s super flattering when you let it hang but it looks cute tucked in too with a fun belt as a pop. I accessorized with gold stars and my matching metallic booties. You can’t go wrong with an all-black look; it works for so many different events!
