It’s certainly no secret that I love making a statement. Especially, in the eyes of fashion. As I navigate fashion school, grow my brand, and prepare for New York Fashion Week, I’ve been compelled to make new clothing choices. Today, I’m teaming up with Boohoo for the first time ever to bring to you three looks centered around a killer statement piece. You’ll be the star of the show in one of these looks!
I own my fair share of faux fur but nothing even close to this feathered skirt. The second I laid eyes on it, I knew I had to grab it. I thought this would be the perfect contender to bring to fashion week for an event! I would recommend going down at least one size in it; I’ll be honest, I have this clipped in the back for the photos to keep it on. The feathers make the perfect statement and you can’t go wrong with blush pink as you dream of spring weather.
When styling a statement piece, it’s important to keep the rest of your look rather “quiet”. With such a loud piece as the center of attention, something simple like a black turtleneck will do just the trick to balance out the bottom half of this look. For shoes, I chose a sock bootie. These are my go-to when wearing a dress or skirt because they elongate your legs big time! Pop on a couple of accessories like star drop earrings and a pretty necklace and you’re good to go. I think a fun little bag would have looked awesome too.

Every girl needs their pretty in pink moment. I’m having mine in this fabulous bodysuit. I was skeptical to reach for this since it is a plunging neckline which is a little more ~scandalous~ than I’m used to but I absolutely love this bodysuit. The huge, ruffled sleeves give this top so much body and are the feminine contrast this neckline needs. It’s the perfect mix of sexy, sassy, and sweet. Boohoo doesn’t list off the length of their stuff the way other online retailers like SheIn and Romwe do. Because of this, I was a bit worried that the sizing would be off. Turns out this bodysuit was the perfect length. It’s a thong style and has snaps making this the best kind of bodysuit there is!
My metallic pink go-go boots from Marc Fisher just had to make their appearance. I wanted to tie the blush pink in somewhere else throughout this look and a fun, matching statement shoe was just the way to do it. I threw on my favorite black ripped jeans from Express to finish off the look. I think the edgier feel of the jeans really tie this outfit together. I popped on a belt to highlight the small part of my waist and a fun arm cuff to keep the gold accessories going strong.

Sometimes you just need to put on your best sparkly outfit. I needed to grab this jumpsuit from Boohoo. Although the camera isn’t picking it up much, it’s glittery in person making it even more fabulous. This definitely runs large so if you’re shorter like me, size down and pop on a pair of heeled booties to give you the extra height this jumpsuit needs.
Because this jumpsuit was definitely on the thinner side and it’s the dead of winter, I decided that layering a turtleneck underneath would be my best bet. This provides an extra layer that is necessary this time of year. If you were wanting to rock this look but were somewhere even colder, pop on leggings or tights underneath and then throw on your favorite velvet puffer coat and you’re golden. I’m wearing my favorite gold earrings from Walmart to finish off this look.

I shared my whole Boohoo haul in yesterday’s Week In My Life Vlog; check it out here if you missed it. I didn’t style all of the pieces I received in today’s blog post because I’m saving a few for my trip into the city. You’ll have to wait and see what fabulous looks I come up with. In the meantime, you can shop Boohoo’s entire site for 55% off with my code BOOHOOU.
Overall, the Boohoo pieces I received this month were a blast to style. I’m definitely going to stick with a size 0 or 2 when ordering from them as I do think they tend to run on the larger side. Orrrr maybe my time at the gym is working?! I don’t think so, too many gummy bears balancing that out, lol. In all seriousness, take your measurements and take their size quiz to ensure you get the best fit possible.
I cannot wait to shop next month and know I will be able to find some super awesome things. What types of clothing should I pick up next— sweat sets, more statement items, or winter basics? Let me know what kinds of pieces you want to see next in the comments below. Hope you enjoyed these looks as much as I did!
With love, McKenz
