I can’t lie, one of my favorite things about blogging is getting to partner with companies I’ve loved years prior to blogging. My junior year of high school my mom let my sister and I order from Lulus for the very first time. We happily added dresses to our carts and a few weeks later we both sported the most stunning (and affordable) gowns to our junior prom. I’ve loved the company ever since and frequently recommend them to friends, especially if they’re looking for a homecoming, formal, wedding guest, or prom dress.
I recently landed a deal with Lulus and excited is an understatement. Although the collaboration only required me to post to my Instagram, I couldn’t keep myself from sharing my latest finds with you here on the blog. So today I’m sitting down for a short and sweet post featuring some of the pieces I recently picked up from Lulus.
This was my first time receiving actual clothes from Lulus rather than a dress and I was so impressed with the quality, fit, and style of the pieces I chose. When initiating my search on their site, I knew I needed to start by grabbing something black and a bit dressier. I have a King of Hearts philanthropy event coming up for my sorority, Alpha Phi, and the dress code is a black dress or jumpsuit.
This one instantly caught my eye. This baby was on clearance final sale for $16 and I just couldn’t resist it. An exposed collarbone is just about my favorite detail so the fact that this is strapless made me love it even more. It’s got an asymmetrical top half with a fun layered ruffle. With a princess seam and wide legs, this jumpsuit makes your legs look miles long.
I was pleasantly surprised this jumpsuit was double-lined. Because the event is in February the extra layer of warmth will be much appreciated. I will say the overall fit of this is a bit large, I got an XS since it was the smallest size but if they offered this in a Petite I would have grabbed that instead. Size down if you have a smaller chest and are on the shorter side like me!
The next thing I was on the hunt for: a tailored coat. I have tons of faux fur, teddy coats, and bombers but I don’t have the jacket. You know the one— a timeless coat, one that is a bit longer, nothing fancy schmancy just a classic silhouette. I will say my idea of timeless and nothing fancy is leopard but besides that, this coat really is everything I was looking for. I don’t feel like the coat swallows me whole and it can be worn as a neutral or a statement depending on how you style it.
I absolutely love this and am so glad I picked it up. It’s definitely not super warm, as in a replacement for my parka, but it’s still a really nice weight to it. Perfect for the fall or spring. I grabbed it in a Small and it’s still loose enough for me to fit a thicker sweater underneath which is great for when I’m running out the door or for class when it gets a bit warmer here.
The last thing I had to grab was a fun pair of socks. I’ve been seeing the socks with heels trend all over my Instagram and Pinterest feeds and just had to give it a try myself. I love that these are sheer so they look like tights almost! The fun leopard detailing is a subtle yet unique touch to a rather simple outfit idea. I kept things classic with just a black block heel but these socks with a neon mule would be such a stellar choice— I’ve already picked up a pink pair from SheIn so I can try that look out next; don’t you worry!

Overall, I was so pleased with the way this outfit came together. I think it’s perfect if you have a nicer event coming up or if you just want to look ~fabulous~ at say, the grocery store?! But seriously, I cannot wait to wear these pieces together and on their own over the next few months. I know they will be a hit!
That’s going to be all for today’s post. I hope you enjoyed this short and sweet post featuring my new Lulus pieces. Make sure to give my Instagram posts some love so I can continue partnering with brands I love. What form of leopard will you be rocking this season? let me know in the comments below.
With love, McKenz
