As you know from last Friday’s post, my Prom 2020 series is officially in full swing! Despite being a freshman in college, I recognize that a huge portion of my audience is still of an age to be prom shopping which is why I’m bringing back another year of my prom series. My goal is to make the dress shopping experience for you a bit easier by sharing a wide variety of styles and price points, which is why every Friday for the next month I will be dedicating a blog post to a different designer/retailer.
Today’s prom post is dedicated to Blush Prom who I had the pleasure of working with in 2019 as well. Blush is easily one of my favorite designers; and while I didn’t end up wearing their gown to my pictures, I did change into their dress for the actual dance portion of my senior prom. I also ended up wearing the gown again for my StyledbyMcKenz turns four celebration, so as you can tell, I am a tried and true fan.
Today I’m teaming up with Blush Prom again to share the most gorgeous navy blue dress. Not only would this dress make a killer junior or senior prom dress, but this style is also becoming increasingly popular amongst pageant girls as well!
Blush Prom designs stunning gowns for not only prom and homecoming dances but for pageants as well! They work exceptionally hard to make their dresses as affordable as possible. But before you freak out when looking at the price, keep in mind that these are designer gowns so you truly are getting some bang for your buck! Their retailers work with you to find the best styles at the best prices.
Blush Prom also focuses on the quality and sizing of your gown which is super underrated. We’ve talked in previous posts from 2019’s series about the dangers of counterfeit gowns. No worries here; Blush Prom has strict quality control and ensures that your dress is the proper fit, in the exact color, and has the correct trim. They also want to provide options for everyone— offering sizes from 0 to 30.
Drumroll please…. the dress I chose this year is Style 11992 and is absolutely incredible. Truthfully, when I took this dress out of the box, I wasn’t completely sold on it but the second I put it on, I fell in love with it. That goes to show, you truly never know until you try it on. When shopping in-store, try every single style on, you’d be surprised what you end up liking!
What I love about this gown is it’s got an A-line fit, meaning it’s not clinging to any part of your body besides the bodice. This makes the gown super flattering on a wide variety of body shapes and sizes. The bodice is stunning; covered entirely in the most beautiful beads. These are so gorgeous when they catch the light. The sweetheart neckline is a classic fit. I love the mesh detailing on the sides and across the chest to spice things up a bit while still keeping the dress classy.
Although, I have to admit the skirt is my favorite part of this gown. It’s entirely chiffon with a thigh-high slit that makes your legs look a mile long. I love a super long train, and this skirt fans out so beautifully. Some trains can be super fussy when constantly moving around but I found this one to be super manageable and one of the easier dresses to readjust on your own. This dress is super long though, so it’s definitely one I would tie up while dancing the night away!
Oh, and did I mention this dress has pockets?! I promise you will be thanking yourself later for choosing a gown with pockets. This gives you a place to store your phone and ticket throughout the night which is always a plus!
With the dress, I wore just a simple pair of nude heels. I love block heels because they are manageable and won’t sink into the ground if it happens to be damp out the day of your prom. For accessories, I stuck with my favorite gold gongs and my new favorite cuff from Mantra Band! I felt that with the neckline of this dress, skipping a necklace would probably be best.
As for sizing, I’m wearing a 2 in this gown and it fits me perfectly. I also wore a 2 in last year’s dress which is still available here. I would encourage you to read the size charts and take your measurements before purchasing a gown. Style 11992 is available in three colors, I have on the “Navy” here.

Well, that’s going to be a wrap for my second collaboration with Blush Prom. I couldn’t love this company, their dresses, and what they stand for more! Here’s to hoping somebody will take me to prom so I can wear this beauty out for the night, haha. Be sure to let me know if there is a specific designer/retailer you are wanting me to work with this season and I will be sure to add them to the list. I’ll catch you next Friday for another prom post with Lulu’s.
With love, McKenz
