While cities like San Fransisco and Miami have been put on mandatory house arrest, there’s no saying when we could be next. So truthfully, I have no idea what to expect over these next few weeks, let alone how to give you all a “game plan” for what to expect from me. I’m trying not to sweat it too much since I know every other influencer is in the same boat.
While we are definitely participating in social distancing over here, I figured there was no harm in heading outside to snap a few photos. Although, things are changing day by day so who even knows anymore! Regardless, on Sunday I was able to head out and snap some photos for the blog with the help of my dad. Back to the family photographers, we go; I’m sure they are less than thrilled about me being home for five months lol.
Although I’m not quite sure if we’ll be leaving our houses a whole lot these next few weeks, I figured I’d still share some spring trends that are worth following;. Even if you are just wearing them as you walk from the bed to the dinner table— we’ve got to fake it till we make it these next few weeks.
This fall and winter I found myself in quite the color rut. I’m typically someone who is always wearing bright hues and fun prints and I’ve really gotten into a bad habit of basics these last few months. While I’ve obviously still loved my outfit choices I’m excited to go back to my typical fashion choices for a few months.
I know, I know, florals for spring aren’t exactly groundbreaking by any means but it is definitely a trend that reappears year after year. For obvious reasons, there’s something so classy and feminine about a classic print like this one. I’m a sucker for two-piece sets, always have been and this one is no exception. Not only do these pieces look super cute together, but they are adorable separate too. You basically are buying three outfits in one with this bad boy!
I’m totally crushing on this color combo— navy, lilac, and a bit of light blue is the perfect mix of spring florals. I also love the ruffles on this set. If we’re able to get out of the house for Easter Sunday, this outfit is definitely a contender.
I paired the set with a simple pair of nude heels. I just recently picked these up and I love them so much. They are a bit taller than my usual heels but they give my legs the perfect amount of lift. A few gold accessories complete this outfit in no time.

Gingham is making its return! We’ve seen this print trending for a few years now and I have to admit, I’m so happy to see it coming back again. I associate this print with a sunny afternoon picnic which is bringing me all the happy thoughts during this rather dreary time in the world.
Just about every shirt/dress I’ve been seeing lately has some form of statement sleeves. This dress, obviously accompanied by a pair of puffs. Puff sleeves are so fun and are a great way to hide your upper arms if that’s not your favorite area. I think the big sleeves are the perfect contrast for the rest of this dress.
Smocked was such a big trend last year so I was stoked to see it making a come back this year. I’m not usually one to reach for fitted dresses for everyday wear but this one was just calling my name. I love the fit of this and think it makes you look so skinny! Pair it with white platform sneakers to give this look a girl next door vibes.

Gigot sleeves have arrived! Yep, that’s what these big, colonial-style sleeves are called that you keep seeing everywhere. While they do sort of give me George Washington vibes, I think they are super fun and unique.
This top is just the cutest for spring! I love the lace-up detailing— this resembles corsets to a tee which is another common trend amongst designers’ spring collections. The silky material is so chic and sophisticated. I love that you’re able to dress this top up or down depending on how you style it.
I chose to dress it up a bit by pairing it with some black denim. These jeans are my new favorite style from Express. They are the cropped flares that have got the perfect fit accompanied by an ankle-length raw hem. To elongate the legs, all you need is a pair of heels to give your look some lift. I absolutely adore this combination for dinner out.

A majority of the items I styled today are from my latest SheIn haul I shared to YouTube. I’ve got tons of new pieces ready and waiting to be styled now— hopefully, I’ll be able to get outside soon to photograph even more of them! They are all perfect for the springtime and can be purchased for 15% off with code Q4mckenz15.
Make sure to check out today’s YouTube video to see me haul the items styled above and more.
As of right now, I will be trying my best to keep up with my posting schedule both here and on my Instagram. Worst comes to worst, I can always go back to my roots head to the backyard to snap some photos. Or perhaps dabble into some indoor photos… or, as much as I hate to say it, consider taking a couple week’s break. Although, that may make me lose my sanity all together haha.
Oh well, I suppose only time will tell. Keeping all of you in my thoughts as we navigate this scary, unknown time. We’ll get through this — one spring trend at a time.
With love, McKenz
