As you know by now, my Prom 2020 series is in full swing—in fact, it’s winding down already. Next Friday will sadly be the last of the series! Despite being a freshman in college, I recognize that a huge portion of my audience is still of an age to be prom shopping which is why I decided to bring back another year of my prom series. My goal is to make the dress shopping experience for you a bit easier by sharing a wide variety of styles and price points, which is why every Friday I have been dedicating a blog post to a different designer/retailer.
Last year I collaborated with SheIn as part of my prom series to showcase three different dresses all under $30 (click here to read)! The post ended up being one of my most popular posts of the series. There are so many girls who skip out on their special night because money is an issue. While fancy gowns are beautiful, you can look good without spending tons of money. This is why I decided to team up with SheIn again to share two affordable dresses that will do just the trick.
I was on the fence about this dress when ordering it but decided to give it a go and I am so glad I did. This dress totally has my heart! I was definitely not expecting to love this as much as I do. This dress is on the more casual side, with a bit of a bohemian feel to it but I still think it would be perfect for the occasion.
The bodice of this dress is beautiful. It’s got a deep, plunging neckline—definitely on the lower side but incredibly flattering! The back of the dress is almost completely open with just two straps that cross along the back. The skirt zips up and clasps at the waistline.
This dress is a simple nude but the lace flowers are gorgeous! It’s got little black dots speckled throughout the flowers too which would coordinate so well with a black tux. Although the lace of the skirt is pretty sheer, there is a nude underlayer of fabric with high slits throughout both of the legs. This not only makes the dress easier to walk in but gives this dress a subtle, unexpected flare.
Because this dress does have a lower cut to it, I felt that a chunky necklace would be too much; I opted to accessorize with just a dainty Kendra Scott necklace. I did, however, feel that a pair of statement earrings was just what this look needed—I’ve got on one of my favorite pairs of hoops. A cuff from Mantra Band complimented this look beautifully. However, a flower crown with this dress would have been amazing.
Unfortunately, this dress has already sold out. Although keep an eye out—SheIn is constantly restocking items so this should be available in the near future!
Look at me with another purple dress—what has gotten into me?! This light lilac color caught my eye as I thought it would be the perfect color to sport during the spring months when prom is held. Paired with your date in a light gray tux; talk about a dynamic duo!
This dress is a strapless tube tress. It’s got more of a mermaid fit to it, as it’s fitted throughout the thighs and then flares out into a train. It’s definitely more of a controlled skirt in comparison to the first dress I shared but only because of the high slit throughout the center of the dress. This is an easy way to show off your shoes so if you’re wanting to make a statement, now is your chance. However, I opted for just a classic nude block heel. This pair is also from SheIn.
Normally, I wouldn’t reach for a dress with a slit up the front but I think the slit is necessary to counteract the cascading ruffles that fall across the torso. These are so gorgeous and are an easy way to cover up your mid-drift if that’s not your favorite area.
I’ll take any excuse I can get to break out these gorgeous floral earrings from Walmart. I rarely get the chance to wear them but think they are such a fun statement piece! I was so excited to pair these with this gown. I stuck with the same necklace and cuff from before. An up-do with this outfit would be fabulous.
These dresses are definitely toned down in comparison to previous dresses I’ve shared. If you’re looking for something a bit more casual or something that will work just fine for a sorority formal, wedding guest attire, or anything of that sort, SheIn has got hundreds of dresses to choose from. That’s going to be all for my two SheIn prom dresses. I hope you loved these dresses and found some affordable dress inspiration for your prom. Don’t forget, you don’t have to spend a lot to feel like a million bucks. If you pick up a SheIn prom dress for your dance, be sure to send me a photo so I can share it via my Instagram story! That’s all for now; catch you next Friday for a prom post with Terani Couture.
With love, McKenz

Thanks so much girly!
That bohemian dress is stunning, I can’t believe how affordable it is, I would totally order it, but I’ll have to wait, hopefully they’ll restock soon. You look lovely in both dresses though. xx
Yes, hoping they restock because it’s so pretty!
