We’re in the home stretch of school, folks! Only two-ish weeks left of my freshman year. I’ll be honest, this whole online school thing is starting to drive me bonkers; it feels like there is always something. More than ever right now, my Styled by McKenz platforms are my creative outlets. Getting to curate looks and shoot photos is one of the only things getting me through this.
And while I realize none of us are putting on nice dresses for fancy occasions these days, playing “dress up” is what’s bringing me joy lately which is why today I’m styling a few dresses. I may not be wearing them as I intended but popping a dress and heels on for a few photos is how I feel normal; so without further adieu here are some pieces from today’s haul in action.
I have seen this style dress everywhere recently and finally decided to give it a go. Boy am I so glad I did; this silky material is so cute. SheIn had several color options in this style but I opted for this bright green. I don’t own anything in this color and thought that it would be a fun pop for this time of year. It’s definitely a little funky but I’m rolling with it! The cowl neck style is so sleek and makes you feel extra chic despite simply wearing a little slip dress.
I love how easily this style can be dressed up or down. I wanted to dress it up a bit so I went with white lace-up heels. I grabbed these a few weeks ago and they are the best; so cute and such a comfortable height. I added a few accessories like a white purse, statement earrings, and a simple necklace to finish this look. This combination would be so perfect for dinner while on vacation; now if only we were set free to go on one….

You know how much I love gingham! Of all the style dresses I own, a loose babydoll style such as this one is probably my all-time favorite. I love how shapeless this dress is; just a cute, happy sundress that could be worn wherever for whatever occasion. The straps on this one are self-tying making this adjustable to whatever chest size. Pop on a white cardigan if it’s still a bit chilly by you!
With the blue, I thought yellow accents would be a cute touch. I don’t mix the two colors often but when I do, I always ask myself why I don’t do it more often. These square toe little block heels have the daintiest straps to elongate the legs. Not to mention, they are the perfect height for walking around. Pop on some matching earrings and you’ve completed your look. I also think this dress would look adorable with white platform sneakers and a baseball cap for a day on the field; you know I can’t stop wearing dresses even when I’m there!

Couldn’t resist the animal print—you should know by now! This cowl neck slip style dress also came in a cute midi version so I decided to give it a go. I will admit, it’s not my favorite of the three but I still think it’s an adorable option for a nicer dinner or event. This one wasn’t as fitted along the waist; it would look perfect belted!
As for shoes, I’ve got those same yellow heels on in the black version. I love these and was so drawn to them. They’ve got a modern, feminine twist to the classic block heels I am used to wearing. Paired with this style dress, I’m instantly taken back to the 90s with a little bit of Monica + Rachel outfit inspo from Friends! This is totally something they would’ve worn back then (minus the animal print!). I, of course, added hoops and a cuff to finish off my look.
