A plain ole tee shirt dress is a wardrobe essential. Accessorize, layer, tuck into shorts, you name it and I promise a simple tee shirt dress can do it; there are endless ways to style one. Today I’m sharing how just a few simple steps can take your bland tee to a whole new level. Be sure to stick around until the end; I’m linking today’s YouTube video which has these outfits + even more comfy athleisure outfit ideas from Boohoo.
Neon is so trendy right now and I’m here for it. I love the bright pops of color this time of year and a tee-shirt dress is the easiest way to sport them. I went with a neon green option that makes me look extra tan. Because this color is such a statement, I’m keeping the rest of my look super simple and neutral in color. That means starting off with a chunky pair of sneakers. I love this pair so much; they are super out of my comfort zone and yet every time I wear them I feel instantly cooler, lol.
To edge this dress up a bit, I’m playing with accessories big time—this is the easiest way to transform your look into something fun and unexpected. I’m grabbing a bum bag and wearing this across my chest. This helps give the tee some dimension plus it fits all your belongings perfectly for your quarantine errands. I’m them popping on some cat-eye sunnies (to block out the haterzzzzz), layering up on the gold chunky necklaces, and throwing on some thick gold hoops.

There are endless ways to style a tee shirt dress but the no brainer, easiest way to wear one is to just throw one on. Yep. No belts, no belt bags, no jacket, just throw it on. The lazy girl’s way can be adorable when done right! I’m dressing my look up a bit with a pair of heeled mules. I’ve had these forever and they are some of my favorite shoes for the summertime; so easy to slip on and go! My next trick is adding a hat. This faux leather cabby hat is one of the best and can be worn throughout any season.
When wearing a monochromatic look like this one, it’s important that your bag be a fun pop of color or even a simple print. I, of course, had to reach for my 2000s style cow print one. I love the look of this bag when worn over the shoulder—I just grabbed another one in white the other day. They look so cute with outfits like this one and will instantly elevate your look. Just a few simple gold accessories to tie it all together.

Technically this outfit could have gone with Monday’s western-inspired outfit ideas but I figured it belonged right here with the rest of these looks. Again, I threw on one of those simple tee-shirt dresses, this time in the white version! I knew I wanted to give this one a little western spin so I started off by belting the dress with a double buckle belt. Not only do belts help give your tee some shape but they spice up your outfit almost instantly.
Next up, I popped on some boots. I mentioned this last week in my May outfit ideas post so I’m sure you already know by now, but I love the way mid-shaft boots look with tee-shirt dresses. Rather than making your legs look stumpy they really help elongate them. I then popped on my cowboy hat and kept the same gold accessories from before. And there you have it, a few simple steps and you’ve got a killer outfit for a country concert, rodeo, or photoshoot!

I sized up in this pink tee from Boohoo and while it’s obviously not long enough to wear as a dress, I figured I’d throw it in as a little bonus look. Never in a million years did I ever think I would be able to rock a pair of biker shorts but I’ve been seeing them styled with oversized tees like crazy on Pinterest and figured I should give them a try. I have to say, I think I’m a fan! Not only was the outfit super comfortable for a work from home day but a few accessories make the simple combination anything but boring! (According to Harris, if I lived in California I would fit right in with this outfit so it’s obviously a keeper.)
