Tops You Need This Summer

I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I am for today’s blog post. In my latest SheIn order I grabbed a bunch of cute, trendy tops under $15 and I was blown away by the quality of them. I styled a few of them for today’s blog post and am itching for the day our restaurants reopen so I can wear one of these out to dinner! Here are three tops you need this summer: yes, need.

Pop of Blue 

I swear, there is no color more flattering on my skin tone than this gorgeous royal blue. Every time I wear it, I ask myself why I don’t reach for it more often. This top was even cuter in person than it was online and I was so pleasantly surprised. It’s got the most amazing puff sleeves that add quite the unique flare and the tie front detailing is incredibly flattering. I will admit, this top is definitely on the cropped side.

As in, it’s even smaller than your typical crop top; however, that’s nothing a pair of high rise jeans can’t fix. I actually love playing with proportions this way and think this combination helps elongate your legs. I reached for white denim to make the royal blue pop and because it’s after Memorial Day which means it’s “socially acceptable” to do so (if you’re someone who still follows those rules). These jeans are ankle-length which makes a classic block heel pair so perfectly with them. These heels are a bit older but they matched this top to a tee and were the perfect way to complete this look.

I added just a few gold accessories— statement earrings, a Kendra Scott necklace, and my Fossil watch are my go-to’s this time of year and I’m almost always wearing the trio. This was by far my favorite outfit of the three; it would make the perfect date night look once things reopen!

Pretty Peplum 

I love peplum tops and could not pass this one up! This piece is so unique and incorporates some of my favorite trends this season. For starters, it’s got a bustier style bust which is so flattering. The cups are very supportive and are padded so you can forgo a bra with this! It is fitted throughout the torso but flares out into an asymmetrical, parachute-style ruffle. I am obsessed with the statement this top makes and the color is to die for!

With this top I’m wearing a pair of mid-rise jeans. The ripped knees of these are so cute and are just what this top needed to keep the outfit from being too dressy. To me, there is nothing that makes you look more effortlessly put together than wearing heels with skinny jeans. I reached for these tall nude block heels and they really pulled the outfit together. Another awesome outfit for going out to dinner in the summertime.

Tied Tie-Dye 

While those last two looks were a bit more feminine + classy, I knew I needed to throw in an outfit that was a bit more bohemian. This tie-dye top is a must for the summer. This cute little cami has got some white and blue tie-dye and it self ties in the back. I love an open back! There is truly so much you can do with this top; it would look adorable with white denim shorts for a concert.

With this top, I’m wearing some new flare jeans from SheIn. I was super impressed with the quality of these pants. Not only do they fit me like an absolute glove along the waist, but they are the perfect length and are very comfortable. I cannot recommend these enough, especially if you’re a college student. The seam down the legs really helps elongate them! I’m wearing white chunky heels with this look but sandals would work well too. This look feels very 70s to me which I, of course, am all about.
