Well, it’s safe to say my western kick hasn’t slowed down over the last few weeks. In fact, it’s taken on a whole new form! These days I’ve been having so much fun getting creative with my outfits and really embracing all sides of my style. While I’m definitely no true cowgirl, I’m loving incorporating western elements into my outfits. I am so excited to be teaming up with Dingo today to share two new pairs of shoes to kickstart summer!
Dingo was established in 1969 and is one of the first lifestyle boot brands, specifically designed for a socially aware, fashion-conscious generation. With vintage elements and a modern flair, every shoe in this Dingo collection is made to reflect the unique American spirit. With hundreds of different styles— they’ve got everything from classic cowgirl to trendy western.
Holy cow (pun intended) do I love these boots. I have been dying to get my hands on a pair of real cowgirl boots; I have a few costume pairs that I’ve been experimenting with the last few months and decided that it was time to finally take the plunge! I decided to “go big or go home” and reached for the “Live A Little” boots from Dingo. These are definitely a statement piece but I couldn’t love them more.
I decided to go with just a basic black and white combo to really coordinate with the shoes. I’m wearing a simple white ribbed bodysuit. I prefer bodysuits when wearing a skirt because they tuck-in so effortlessly!
I felt this look needed some texture to bring it to life so I reached for this suede fringe skirt. This has been sitting in my closet for ages now just waiting for the perfect time to be pulled out—it’s safe to say today was that day. Fringe adds so much movement to a look which is one of the reasons I love reaching for it. Oh, and I obviously had to pop on my cowboy hat + cow print earrings to pull the look together.
You’d be surprised how much cow print goes with! I like reaching for basics and then spicing my look up with these bold boots. These also come in brown and I can promise you they will be the next addition to my closet! I am typically a 7.5 or 8; I’m wearing the 8 in these and they fit perfect.

For my second pair of shoes, I wanted to reach for something a little more classic. While I definitely adore the statement the cow print boots make, I knew I wanted something a bit more versatile for everyday wear. I settled on the “Knockout” leather mules and they are just what I was looking for. These can totally have a western spin if you want but they really are a classic mule that can go with just about anything.
I’m wearing them in Tan but they also come in Red, Snakeskin, and Mustard which I have my eye on since you know me and my love for yellow! I love the heel height of these. It’s just enough to give you a little extra lift but it’s short enough that they are still super easy to walk in and extremely comfortable. I have a feeling I will be sporting these a ton around campus this school year! I am also wearing an 8 in these.
For this look, I reached for my go-to tank and jeans. I wear this outfit combination constantly throughout the later months of summer and pop a cardigan over as we ease into fall. These ripped skinny jeans from Express are some of my favorites and look adorable with just a simple white tank top and statement earrings. I love the way these mules complete the look. While I definitely prefer them with classic skinny jeans so that they get the full attention they deserve, this style works wonderfully with flared jeans as well!
If I were at school, I would have left the outfit at that but since I’m home for the summer and embracing my inner cowgirl I just had to throw on my cowboy hat and cow print purse. These two accessories were the perfect finishing touch.

Well, which pair was your favorite?! I want to hear which ones you would grab for yourself in the comments below. In all honesty, every time I share a few western inspired outfits I feel like the Miley Cyrus in that one scene from Hannah Montana The Movie where she gets dropped off on the side of the road with her pink luggage and her horse Blue Jeans rips off her wig and she miraculously remembers that she’s a cowgirl at heart. Hahaha, very dramatic of me. Anywho, I hope you enjoyed!
With love, McKenz
