It’s about time I start sharing some back to school outfit inspiration. However, with so many schools pushing their fall semesters online, Kent State included, I figured I’d start this series off with some comfy outfit ideas. Whether you’re headed to class or are learning from your bed, I encourage you to get up and get dressed every single day.
I can assure you it will make all the difference in not only your productivity but in your mood too! Even if I just changed out of my pajamas and into sweatpants, it still jump-started my day and worked wonders for my productivity levels throughout the spring semester. Today I’m sharing four easy ways to make your loungewear look super trendy!
Biker shorts are having their time to shine this season and I’ve got to admit, they are kind of growing on me. As you know, I’m all about comfy joggers but I’m well aware that for a lot of students it’s just too hot to start wearing them just yet. If you’re someone whose going to be walking around campus for class still and want to wear something comfy, I recommend trying out the biker shorts trend.
If they are a bit intimidating to you (which I totally understand!), I recommend pairing them with an oversized graphic tee. They look adorable together and it’s a hip, trendy way to wear your favorite tee-shirts. I’m playing with a monochrome look here by pairing two different shades of gray together.
To complete the look, throw on some comfortable sneakers, a pair of thick gold hoops, and a few bangles.

I hate to say it, but cooler temperatures are going to be here before we know it! This combination right here was easily my most worn one of freshman year. Once transitioning to online classes, I found myself wanting to wear sweats every single day. And hey, there’s nothing wrong with that! I recommend going for a cute color. This pair here is a gorgeous mauve; they’ve got a tapered fit giving them a more polished look.
These joggers are super high waisted so a long sleeve crop top pairs perfectly with them. Boohoo has the best basics and I have this top in a few different colors. When I find something I like from them, I tend to stock up in a few different colors that way I can mix and match my basics. This tip is going to be crucial for maximizing your closet while in college! Furry, slip-on mules are a comfy, sophisticated way to complete your outfit.

If biker shorts aren’t your vibe, don’t fret! Perhaps, a “sweat short” is more your taste! What I love about these is they give off a similar feel to sweats but they are a) shorter so they are more suitable for the summer and b) aren’t fleece so you’re not sweating your tush off when wearing them.
Becuase these shorts are a bit longer and more of the Bermuda style, I’m playing with proportions and pairing a simple white crop top with them. This is a great combo if you’ve got a long day of walking from class to class ahead of you. Throw a hoodie in your bag to pop on when inside an air-conditioned classroom.
I’ve got on chunky white sneakers which are an absolute must for college, whether they are worn to class, a party, or the dining hall. I highly recommend keeping a cool pair of shades in your backpack for when you’re walking to and from buildings! Not only are they functional but they cover up the fact that you pulled an all-nighter studying for your Econ exam, just saying!

If you’ve got a bunch of basics to mix and match you will be all set for college! These joggers are one of my most favorite styles from Boohoo. They are super oversized and have more of that “sweatpant” look to them. When wearing a baggier bottom I like to go for a fitted top.
I grabbed this ribbed tee in a few colors and it’s awesome—super stretchy and very thick. It’s full length which is great for tucking into your bottoms but with a little tuck into your bra, you can give it a cropped look like I have here. My trick to wearing super simple pairings like this one, is to throw on a cool pair of sneakers. This snakeskin pair makes such a statement and is such an easy way to spice up your look.
