I’d be lying if I said I’ve been working out while home for the summer but I have been stocking up on cute activewear sets to wear when I get my booty back in the gym this fall! I worked out six times a week while at school and getting back on my fitness grind is one of the reasons I’m most excited to get back on campus.
When working out, I almost always wear a matching leggings + sports bra set. Not only do I prefer a set becuase they are cuter than an old tee shirt and running shorts, but I find that they are the most comfortable for me! I have my fair share of sets and am always switching up which brands I wear— Yogalicious, Lilybod, Joy Lab, Old Navy, and Fabletics are among some of my favorite places to find cute ones.
After much debate, I picked up my first activewear set from SheIn back in January. I have been hooked ever since. While there are definitely items I recommend staying away from in their activewear line, there are a few hidden gems!
Every now and then SheIn will release a pair of seamless leggings that are almost the exact same blend of fabrics as Gym Shark’s leggings, giving you the same quality workout wear for just a fraction of the cost. I love these sets so much that I just have to share them with you today before they sell out!
I have tons of sets but I find myself gravitating towards the seamless ones more. Simply because they are so comfortable! There’s nothing worse than a seam digging into your side or the waistband of your pants being so tight you can hardly breathe. Although these sets will look rather tiny when just looking at them, they stretch out big time once actually putting them on. I am wearing a Small in all of them and they fit me like a glove.
However, just because these are seamless doesn’t mean they’re going to fall down while working out. Although I haven’t worn this set to my usual stepper + bike gym day I have worn it golfing and hiking and had no problems when doing either activity.
I am on the shorter side at only 5’2″ and I will admit, these leggings are about as high-waisted as it gets. They well surpass my belly button and leave hardly any of my stomach on display once met with the sports bra. I hate wearing a shirt over my sets to the gym but also don’t want to be completely exposed, this set gives me the perfect happy medium!
I also love the sports bra of these sets! They have a bit of a scoop neck flattering the chest and yet they are still supportive. The cut along the sides/armpit area is high enough that you have no chance of your boobs spilling out either. The pads are super thick and can be removed if you so desire. I, however, always leave the pads in.
This set comes in seven different colors. I’ve got it on in the “Dark Green” which looks more teal in person, and the “Violet” which is definitely more of a royal blue. Both colors are super unique and so flattering with my summer tan.
Although these three sets all look relatively similar, the red one is actually a bit different. This color is sold separately in the top and bottoms which is a bonus if you take a different size in both areas. There are a few minor differences in the “sold separately” version.
For starters, these leggings don’t come up as high. They are about an inch shorter which, as a shorter girl, I do like! The material is also a Polyester and Spandex blend rather than Nylon and Spandex like the other two sets. I found this version to be much softer and thicker than the others. Besides that, these are almost identical. I couldn’t love this set more and am a sucker for the color; the red is so flattering!
I cannot wait to get back to “normalcy” and start hitting the gym in my cute new activewear when I’m back on campus. I’ve got a few more workout pieces coming in the mail soon from a handful of other retailers that I will be sure to share + review for you.
If you want to see more workout clothes here on the blog be sure to let me know in the comments below. Now go grab yourself a Gym Shark dupe before they are all sold out! Thanks so much for hanging out with me today.
With love, McKenz
