(No) thanks to Covid-19 I know wedding season is looking a little different this year. So many people who had a spring wedding planned have had to postpone their special day to late summer/early fall. With that being said, I’ve had many ladies reach out to me via Insta saying they’ve got a full schedule of weddings and no idea what to wear. Which is why today I’m sharing five different wedding-ready outfit ideas to rock this season. Don’t forget your mask to complete the outfit! 😉
Although I’ve been to a handful of weddings, it’s been a few years so I may be a little rusty in this area. However, I tried my best to share easy, re-creatable outfits for you. Chances are the bride and groom have sent out an invitation that includes some sort of “dress code” guideline. While some weddings are black tie, others are beachy casual. It just depends! Try to do some investigating beforehand so you don’t stick out too much and don’t forget X no white X.
If you’re headed to a wedding with a dressier venue this summer this dress may be the one for you! I have seen so many cute fitted dresses recently and had to hop on the trend. It’s not often I reach for a bodycon but this one has the most amazing ruched detailing throughout it and the cutest puff sleeves that I just had to give it a shot. The pale yellow and dainty floral print are the perfect summer combo!
For shoes, I popped on a pair of matching block heels. These are on the shorter side, making them a bit easier to walk in and a lot easier to dance in! To play off of the pale pink floral print, I’m accessorizing with rose gold earrings and a few bangles.

I know black-tie typically means fancier dresses and heels. I’ve never been to one this style and so I honestly don’t know if long or short dresses are more common in the summertime. But regardless, if you’re headed to a “cocktail” style wedding this is the perfect look. I seriously could not love this blue embroidered dress more. This is hands down the best piece I’ve ever gotten from SheIn; not only is it super structured but it fits me like a glove, slimming my figure in all the right places.
It’s unexpected and bold without being too overpowering. For shoes, I went ahead and popped on some royal blue heels. These matched to a tee and are the perfect height in my opinion! I accessorized lightly as this dress speaks for itself! If only New York Fashion Week weren’t going online; I would have totally sported this look in the city this season!

This look is perfect if you’re attending a “summer casual” wedding. Typically that means ladies will still be wearing dresses but a simple sundress will work just fine. I love this pale green polka-dot one. It’s got a super flattering neckline and the babydoll fit works on any body type!
Flat shoes may be more common at this type of wedding. These gold sandals are an awesome option as the lace-up detail looks a bit dressier and is so feminine. I pair these with everything—whether it be dresses, skirts, or jeans! The metallic is so classy. To give your look a little extra love add gold accessories. I’m wearing some long statement earrings, a bold cuff, and a simple crossbody to complete my outfit.

For those late summer weddings or the ones that trickle into the fall time, a maxi may be just what you’re looking for. Maxis don’t have to be boring nor do they need to be boring. In fact, dresses that are smocked (fitted) throughout are super trendy right now. This golden yellow color screams late August to me! Everything from the fit to the pattern to the color is perfect for that time of year.
Pop on white accessories to add some brightness to your outfit. I went with a slip-on mule; these are so comfortable and dress the look up just enough. Huge statement earrings are my signature style so I went ahead and popped on an oversized floral pair. These complete the outfit beautifully!

I’ve always wanted to go to a beach wedding and I envision myself wearing something similar to this if I were to ever be invited to one! You can never go wrong with a little black dress; they quite literally work for any occasion. This one is rather shapeless which is awesome if you’re planning on stuffing your face at dinner. The cute ruffled straps add a fun accent to the look.
To give off a more relaxed vibe, I popped on a pair of platform espadrilles. These are so fun! I also added a straw bag for my belongings and went with a pair of neutral tassel earrings to match. This outfit is so easy to recreate and is a classic regardless of the time/place.

If you’re headed to a wedding soon I am so jealous! There’s nothing better than celebrating love and getting to be around friends and family. Sending lots of love to all the brides who have had to deal with last-minute changes due to COVID-19. Which outfit would you choose? I’d love to hear below; I personally would have to go with that gorgeous blue one! I just cannot wait to wear it—now I just need an occasion!
With love, McKenz
