Have I ever told you how much I love Lulus?! It’s been a while since we’ve partnered up but they are seriously one of my favorite companies ever. Their online boutique is full of unique, trendy pieces that don’t break the bank. They recently sent over some pieces for me to style on Tik Tok but I couldn’t help myself from snapping some more photos in them for the blog!
I got lots of cute new pieces but today I’m styling my favorite dresses from the bunch. Not only were these pieces absolutely gorgeous but they are perfect for this season of sorority recruitment I am about to enter. Whether you’re going through and are looking for the perfect outfit or are simply wondering what’s trending as we near fall, you’re in luck!
This will be my first year in Alpha Phi as a recruiter! I am so excited to meet new faces (via Zoom) and recruit hardworking, driven women for our chapter. Our final round of sorority recruitment is Preference round where members are required to wear white. As soon as I knew I would need a special occasion dress, I headed to Lulus. They’ve always had such a wide variety of dresses that are the highest quality; in fact, my junior year prom dress was from there!
I scoured through dozens of dresses before settling on this white ruffled beauty. I am such a fan of this wrap front detail and the asymmetrical hem. This dress was so thick and extremely flattering on. Plus, it was the perfect length!
For shoes, I’ll be wearing these nude lace-up block heels throughout the entire post. I picked them up from Lulus as well and I seriously cannot get enough of them. You know how much I love lace-up shoes for elongating the legs and spicing up your look, and these ones are no exception. I am obsessed with how they paired with this dress and with a pair of neutral tassel earrings, this look came together just as I envisioned.

I suppose two-piece sets don’t really qualify as a dress but I wanted to throw this look into the mix since it basically looks like a midi dress that was cut in half to make it a top and bottom. For one of our rounds of sorority recruitment, we need something sage green so this set was right up my alley.
It’s a super soft ribbed material in the most gorgeous hue that makes my summer tan pop big time. The top is a classic scoop neck crop top that looks just as adorable with denim shorts as it does the matching skirt. I’m not usually a midi skirt lover but this one is fitted with a high leg slit that really flatters my petite figure and hugs me in all the right places!
Again, I’m wearing those nude lace-up heels, and to pair with them, I popped on the cutest wide brim hat. I’ve always been a hat lover and once I find one I love, I wear it all the time. I have a feeling you’ll be seeing a lot of this beauty over the next few months. It’s on the pricier side but such a good investment as it’s such a staple piece.

The color blocking trend has come and gone several times over the last few trends and this fall it’s back but in an all new way: two-toned! I’ve been seeing tons of pieces where one half of the garment is one shade and the other half is another. This is such a unique way to play with color and I’m obsessed.
I grabbed this dress for a photo shoot and it’s seriously perfect! The two shades of pink work perfectly with one another and the sinched accents along the center of the dress not only give it some shape but it breaks up the contrast in a subtle way. These sleeves are amazing too with the lace-up detail along the wrists; how cute?!
These heels seriously work with anything; I am obsessed with how they paired with this dress and my matching butterfly earrings. I’ve been wearing these so much lately as they are lightweight and make such a subtle statement.

What kind of dresses are you sporting this year?! Although COVID is still very much a thing, I’m so glad I’m back on campus and able to participate in events (even if they are virtual) that require me to get dressed up and feel my best! Lulus has got it all; make sure to check out their site for all your special occasions, or let’s be honest day to day, clothing needs. Can’t wait to share photos from these sorority days with you in the coming weeks!
With love, McKenz
