Fall Ready Outfit Ideas

Oh, who doesn’t love the sweet smell of October! I’m not a huge fan of the cold but there’s something magical about this time of year in Ohio. Plus, who can resist fall fashion? I know I sure can’t! In fact, today I’m sharing my first festive photos of the season.

I found the cutest place just ten minutes outside of campus, called Beckwith Orchard. It’s the cutest little place ever! Not only are there tons of photo ops but you can pick pumpkins, eat donuts, and go apple picking there. I have a feeling I will be coming here often over the next few weeks whether it be for photos or just to get out and do something!

Today I’m sharing three fall-ready outfit ideas featuring some adorable new Fashion Nova pieces. I couldn’t love these photos more—this was definitely my favorite shoot of sophomore year. I hope you love these looks as much as me; let’s hop right in!

Modern Day Blair Waldorf 

Plaid skirts are trending big time this season so I obviously had to pick one up from Fashion Nova. I love grabbing bottoms from them because they always fit me perfectly! The color palette of this skirt is to die for and screams fall with the navy, burnt orange, and hunter green mix.

Because the skirt makes a statement on its own, I kept things simple with a white turtleneck sweater. I always love a chunkier sweater up top if I have bare legs this time of year.

For shoes, I added these adorable brown knee-high boots. These came in my latest Fashion Nova package and I am obsessed. I’m so happy this trend is making a comeback. This heel gives me the perfect amount of height and this style elongates the legs big time.

I’ll admit, these aren’t the easiest to walk in but they are so fun for styling purposes. To give this outfit a preppy vibe, I’m playing with pearl accessories. These earrings are an old favorite of mine from Romwe and I borrowed this headband from my roommate Griffith. I’m not usually a hair accessory fan but I have to admit, I love the way this headband completed the outfit.

Feeling Flared 

Can we talk about these flared jeans for a second? Oh my gosh, I died and went to heaven when I saw them. The multi-wash denim + raw hems make for the perfect fall combination. I am loving the way these two trends play off one another.

To keep these pants the center of attention, I’m tucking just a simple black turtleneck sweater into them. This sweater is so awesome— not only is the fit of it perfect (wearing an XS) but it’s the best weight for layering throughout the fall.

These jeans run rather long so I’m slipping into nude heeled booties for a little extra height, adding a tan buckle belt to accentuate the waist, and popping on my nude hat to complete the outfit. I love how simple yet trendy this look is. Plus, it left me feeling amazing which is the ultimate goal when choosing an outfit!

Layered in Plaid 

I’ll admit, layering isn’t my greatest skill when it comes to styling but I’m constantly pinning the cutest layered outfits to Pinterest. My goal this season is to master the effortless fall layers and I’m practicing today with this look right here.

I’m starting off in another creme sweater. I have a gazillion of them and love the oversized fit of this Fashion Nova one. It looks adorable both front tucked or just hanging! I popped on the most adorable plaid coat over top. This is the perfect “starter” coat for the fall as it’s not too heavy, giving you just enough warmth and major style points with the neutral plaid color palette.

I threw on the cutest straight leg jeans. These have just a few rips in the knee and the perfect relaxed feel to them. With a pair of slip-on mules, they look so adorable! Whether you’re picking pumpkins or headed to class, this outfit deserves a 10/10 across all boards.
