I’ll be honest, Corona has brought about so many positive changes to my life, and yet there are still so many aspects of pre-pandemic life that I miss. The number one thing being having occasions to dress up for. While yes, I have still styled hundreds of outfits for you here on the blog and have been wearing dresses to my desk for my morning Zoom calls, it’s really not the same. I feel for all of you high schoolers who missed out on your formals, homecomings, and senior proms!
However, rumor has it there are several schools who are attempting to bring back school dances this year, even if they are virtual… whatever that entails. Nonetheless, if I were in the shoes of you high schoolers, I too would be buying a dress even if it were just for the sake of pretty pictures of me and my friends. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve shared evening gowns here on the blog but I’m back today with three of the most fabulous dresses you’ve ever seen from Rachel Allan. So, even if you’re all dressed up with nowhere to go, you’ll look incredible while doing so.
Rachel Allan is one of the biggest dress powerhouses out there. They handcraft each and every style, aiming to provide every customer with the dress of their dreams. Whether it be from the Prom, Curved, or Perfect Angel Couture line they encourage girls to find the dress they feel most confident in. Heads will turn as you strut your stuff in one of their gowns and Rachel Allan hopes you walk away feeling vibrant and sophisticated in whatever dress you choose.
Without a second thought, if I were to go back and do prom all over again, I would wear this dress right here. Style 7076 is the most gorgeous gown you’ve ever seen. This strapless style has the most incredible detailing from top to bottom.
This dress has a slight sweetheart neckline that flatters your chest just enough. It’s the kind of strapless style that stays in place all night—no boob spillage here so you can dance the night away comfortably and confidently. The light floral embroidery and rhinestone-encrusted details give this dress an elegant yet subtle feel.
The bodice gives way to the most gorgeous train. This dress is truly the perfect in-between. It doesn’t have a long train yet what material is there is super easy to fan out around you. Not to mention, this gown moves beautifully allowing you to twirl the night away.
The color palette though is what really pulls this dress together. There’s a nude undertone throughout combined with the palest of purples and just a hint of green. It’s not a color combination I would typically reach for and yet the pastel hues left me feeling like a princess. If you’re wanting a Cinderella moment, this is the dress for you.
With style 7104 you will be glowing in gold! This strapless ball gown is absolutely incredible and made me feel like I was living in a fairytale. This is a metallic jacquard also known as the finest quality evening gown you could come across. The stitching of this dress is beautiful with the most amazing intricate details.
It’s got a strapless neckline with a bit different silhouette than I’m used to. However, I love the angular cut! It gives way to the fullest skirt I’ve ever seen. There is so much crinoline in this dress (also known as the fabric that’s used to help dresses like this one keep their shape). All of the material gives this dress a pretty hefty amount of weight, be prepared to have a total Belle of the ball moment when traipsing around in this beauty!
Did I mention this dress has pockets?! There’s no better detail for a dress to have. These ones are super deep too so you have a place to secretly disclose your phone, keys, and lipgloss throughout the evening. Putting your hands in pockets while taking photos will help give this dress some more dimension and prevent you from “swimming” in it.
Just a few final snaps in this beauty. I sized up to a 2 rather than my usual size 0 for this dress and it fits just right. I have a little extra room along the bust, but the rest of this dress fits like a glove. I’m 5’3 and am wearing three-inch heels for length reference!
I will never turn down a night in navy blue. There are few colors that make me feel as powerful as this hue and I love how complimentary this color is on my late summer tan. Style 7027 is a strappy, fitted prom dress; it’s so different from the first two styles I shared. And yet, it too is beautiful in its own ways.
For one, this dress has straps which I truthfully prefer for a night full of dancing. This dress is a combination of mesh, lace, and tulle giving it a unique style that I’ve seen in so few dresses before. It’s definitely a “trendier” style and yet it’s one I would look back on in years to come and still love. The beaded detailing is so fine yet adds so much to the dress.
I’m a sucker for a leg slit. Not only does it make an evening gown easier to walk in but it’s an effortlessly sexy detail. This one is trimmed with lace as it waterfalls down to the tulle skirt. It’s not a super long train; it has just enough material to give the dress body without tripping over it all night. There are a few pleats along the butt as well to give you some shape in the back.
I mean look at how gorgeous this gown is— how could you not be obsessed?! The back has a deep v. It adds just enough to the dress while still keeping things classy. This one comes in three other colors too so if navy isn’t quite what you’re looking for you’ve got a few backup options.
I have to admit, even though I’m a few years out of high school, there’s nothing more fun than putting on a prom dress and strutting around downtown. I love the elegance and would do anything to go back and have one last dance in one of these beauties.
Which Rachel Allan dress was our favorite?! I love how unique these three styles are from one another and know that everyone has such a distinct taste when it comes to evening wear that I’d love to hear which you preferred in the comments below. Sending love to all the ladies looking for the dress of their dreams right now; don’t forget to check out Rachel Allan for hundreds of stunning pieces.
With love, McKenz
