Of all the hours I spend piecing together outfits to coordinate with the cutest of locations around Kent, you guys always seem to love my mirror picture blog posts the best… sigh. I’ve asked you guys dozens of times why you love them so much and the most popular answer is always that it allows you to better envision what the outfit would look like on you rather than in a staged, posed backdrop.
I understand where you’re coming from and love the simplicity of a good mirror picture too. So, today I’m coming at you with a master blog post of my top 25 outfit ideas for fall 2020. Throughout these looks, I’ve made sure to mix some of this season’s most popular trends while sticking to some staple items that can be reworn dozens of different ways.
The best part is, a majority of the items styled in today’s post are from SheIn meaning they are super budget-friendly. Plus, you can use my code Q4mckenz15 to get 15% off your entire purchase. Whether you’re going to the pumpkin patch, Sunday brunch, or onto campus for class you’ll be the best dressed in one of these adorable fall outfit ideas.
Who doesn’t love a comfy cable knit sweater for the fall? I know I sure love em so inevitably this was the first item I styled. I just recently grabbed this sweater and it’s such high quality (very comparable to Nordstrom!). I popped on a pair of my favorite Express jeans— you’ll see these quite a bit throughout this post. They are currently on sale for under $20 and are fully stocked.
My favorite shoes for the fall are slip-on mules. These serve as a great transition piece and give you just a bit of lift while still keeping your feet comfy. I almost always wear this brown snakeskin leather belt when wearing these kicks; the hues play perfectly off of one another. Add statement earrings to match and you’re good to go for any fall occasion.

Sweater dresses are a favorite of mine as we transition into cooler temperatures. I just picked up this tan one and it’s going to be perfect as we enter the holiday season. I can already envision this outfit idea on Thanksgiving Day. This dress was a tad long on me but nothing a big ole buckle belt couldn’t fix. I love the western touch this one adds.
I added horn earrings to match the vibe and went for a pair of black sock booties to slim the legs and dress this outfit up just a tad. I am obsessed with these neutral tones!

I styled this outfit on the blog earlier this week but it was too good not to share twice. While I do love my neutrals, there’s nothing I love more than experimenting with pops of color in the fall. These bright orange leather pants make such a statement. I love playing with texture so I added faux suede black booties and tucked in a black ribbed bodysuit.
Of course, accessories are what pull this outfit together and give it the edgy vibe I was going for. My sunglasses, hoops, key necklace, and baguette bag are all staples in my wardrobe and from SheIn!

Oh how I love a good star sweater in the fall. I have this one in the grey and white version too and it’s a favorite. Not only is it so soft but it’s got the most amazing flared sleeves. I couldn’t love this one more! I kept things basic with my favorite pair of black jeans. These too are on sale from Express right now; their jeans run true to size, and I am wearing a 00 in all of the pairs throughout this post.
I slipped into mules again—this pair however is from Chinese Laundry. I love the shade of these; they seriously match everything! Added my favorite star belt and star earrings to add some spunk to the look + coordinate with my sweater.

As temperatures dip into the fifties, it’s time to start layeing up. I’m doing it in style with my new leather jacket. This one has the most amazing fit (when you size up one!). It’s flattering yet functional and adds just enough warmth for those crisp fall mornings. I layered a neutral colored sweater underneath.
Cropped flare jeans don’t have to be just for mules and sneakers. Pair them with a bootie that has a higher shaft, covering more of the ankle. These complete the outfit so well and were my most reached for boots last fall (they work for going out and class!).

When in doubt, throw on a black turtleneck and black jeans. I swore by this outfit combination all season long last year. In fact, I wore variations of this outfit more than anything else in my closet. I highly recommend investing in a good black ribbed bodysuit that you can mix and match–I used this one in dozens of today’s outfits.
Not only is this combo slimming as hell but it’s a never fail. Pop on a fun jacket to make a statement. This cute bomber has a light sherpa lining and leather accents. I love me some animal print this time of year! Just a few simple accessories will bring this outfit together in no time.

Flannels bring me right back to my middle school days but they are starting to grow on me big time, I cannot lie! This one has all the neutrals in it and can be worn a gazillion ways. I’m keeping it buttoned up with a pair of boyfriend jeans from Lulus. These are Levis and so comfy. Slipping into simple mules for an easy, “running late” outfit idea that’s still stylish.

One of my favorite outfits of the bunch is this one right here. I picked up this lightweight sweater dress and fell in love with it the second I tried it on. It would be perfect in the summer with a cute pair of sandals but to make it fall appropriate I layered a black turtleneck underneath. I love doing this with my tank dresses to make them seasonally appropriate.
I slipped into black sock booties to make me feel powerful as heck. Add hoops and a cute bag to complete this outfit. You look casual yet classy all at once—I scored dozens of compliments in this outfit the second I stepped downstairs in my sorority house, lol.

Bring on the fall hues! There’s nothing more basic for the season than this rust color right here but my gosh is it good! Keeping things simple with a favorite pair of jeans and black mules. These give off a classier feel, especially when paired with a ring belt and hoops. If you work in an office that allows jeans, this outfit would be perfect for you! It’s rather simple and yet looks super polished.

I just finished up Emily in Pairs on Netflix and while she doesn’t wear jeans more than once throughout the entire show, something about this outfit reminds me of sipping wine in in Italy, lol. Perhaps if you’re headed to the winery with your girlfriends, this would be a good outfit for it!
I love a good bishop sleeve top and this emerald green is striking for the fall. I paired it with cropped flare jeans and nude booties that matched my favorite hat from Lulus. This one is pricey but it’s worth every penny and makes every outfit instantly 10x cooler.

Online classes are all of our realities lately and I can’t blame you for wanting to keep cozy while learning from your living room. Some days just call for leggings. Luckily, this faux leather pair from Spanx will leave you looking a bit more put together than your classic black Lululemons.
I’m wearing a comfy chenille hoodie from SheIn that’s the perfect amount of oversized. No need for shoes, Ugg Fluffita slippers will work just fine for the occasion.

By now you know I love a black on black moment. I love these two hues together because they are both black but slightly different from one another. The back of this top is entirely open with a fun tie! I’m adding gold star accessories to break up all of the black in this look.
I’d typically wear a combo like this one when going out so a pair of heels is always a must. I wore these last weekend and they were surprisingly comfortable plus I scored tons of compliments on them. They’ve got a super thick sole and the snakeskin can pair with just about anything!

Fall wedding season seems to be in full swing right now and this emerald green dress would be perfect for the event! It’s rather simple with sleeves that flare out just a tad and a pepllum hem. I added my favorite nude lace up heels and a pair of butterfly earrings. This pair is so lightweight and gives a feminine vibe to any outfit! I love how earthy this look feels.

This outfit screams pumpkin patch to me and I am so obsessed! This gingham top has the most amazing puff sleeves and cute bustier style cups. I love the feminine details mixed with the burnt orange hue—so perfect for the fall! Of course I slipped into the same pair of Express jeans and my favorite mules.
However, booties would’ve looked adorable with this as well. I added my favorite felt hat and some fringe earrings to tie this look together. Whether you’re carving pumpkins, picking apples, or going through a corn maze this outfit will easily leave you best dressed.

I know I already shared a pair of orange joggers in this post but I promise this pair is different. For one, these are a warmer, burnt orange. Plus, they are a cotton material making them super soft. You can easily dress these up or down depending on how you’re feeling.
I kept things very basic with just a black cropped long sleeve and a pair of slip-on mules. I added gold hoops, accessories, and a cute bag to complete the look. This outfit is nothing crazy but could work for various occasions. If you’re looking for an easy way to look polished yet still comfy, I highly recommend a pair of joggers like these—they don’t give off major “sweatpant” vibes, if you know what I mean!

Agh, who doesn’t love a good button up? You don’t have to look stuffy while wearing your collared tops. Grab one like this that has a fun sheen to it and belle sleeves. I’ve already styled this one a few times and am completely obsessed with it. It’s so on trend and yet tucked into jeans with a pair of black sock booties you look prepped and polished for a day of work.
I added gold hoops and my favorite ring belt to dress it up just a bit. This bag is one of my favorites; by adding it you could totally transition this outfit from day to night.

You guys know how much I love my Spanx, and here’s another favorite way to wear them. I popped on just a simple white tank and threw on the cutest cropped flanel over top. This has the perfect fit to it and can be worn as a shirt or a jacket, whichever you’re feeling. Add a pair of neutral sneakers and you’re good to go for an afternoon of errands and homework. This outfit is such a go to for the girls here on campus!

I’m not usually a fan of brown but I have to admit, the hue is growing on me this season. I just grabbed this wool sweater from SheIn and it’s so soft. It’s heavier than your typical long sleeve but lighter than a sweater making it the perfect layering piece for this time of year. I went ahead and layered a white cardigan over top and am obsessed with the way these two pieces look paired together.
The added warmth is definitely appreciated here in Ohio! Plus, these pieces can easily be styled separately. I added jeans and mules of course. My felt hat + crochet earrings gave this outfit a relaxed, boho feel.

Me again with a monochrome look; who’s surprised! I’m a sucker for basic black tops in the fall and this one is so good. It’s not too cropped and has sleeves that actually fit my long arms: double yay! I broke up the blacks by adding a snakeskin belt and my absolute favorite boots to match.
These shoes are from White Mountain and they are so bomb. I love wearing these when I need a little conficne boost. They look great with all black outfits like I have on here and with other patterns for an unexpected twist. Adding sunnies and a low bun for ~cool girl~ vibes.

The 90s are back which means so are all things velvet and lace. Also known as this cheetah camisole checks allll the boxes. Of course, I layered mine over top of a black mock neck. This is an awesome way to transition your favorite summer pieces into the fall!
For jeans, I’m wearing a pair of light wash distressed Levis. These have such an awesome laid back fit. I threw on black Superga sneakers to complete this outfit. I have these shoes in two colors and they are some of my favorites—they are so versatile and are comfortable for walking around campus. A baguette bag is just what this outfit needed!

Lots of internship outfit requests coming in hot from you guys these days. This blouse would be so perfect in an office setting. It’s got that silky feel and has a lettuce hem collar that’s super modest. It has just a slight bishop sleeve and the leopard makes this top a bit less stuffy.
I recommend throwing it on with black skinny jeans, assuming denim is allowed. If not, swap these out for dress pants. Mules are the perfect shoe and a fun puff ball earring will keep things flirty and fun!
Outfit Details— top: SheIn, jeans: Express, shoes: Chinese Laundry, earrings: SheIn, watch: Fossil
We love a modern day Gossip Girl moment! This pearl sleeved bodysuit screams Blair Waldorf and I am loving the way it looks with a classic pair of jeans. I know sandal weather is slipping away but I had to give these open-toed mules one last hoorah! They are so on trend and look awesome with cropped flair jeans.
To pair with the bodysuit, I went all out and added a pearl headband and earrings. I have to admit, I felt so cute and preppy in this look despite it not being super “my style”.
Outfit Details— bodysuit: SheIn, jeans: Express, shoes: Lulus, earrings: Romwe, necklace: The Silver Heron, headband: Amazon
Cardigan sweaters are all the rage this season and I can see why! I just got this tan one from SheIn and it’s so soft. The peral buttons along the center are the cutest. I kept mine buttoned up with the exception of a few along the top and bottom. Similar to some of the other looks, I wore just a simple pair of jeans and my tan mules. I added the same pearl earrings from the last look to compliment the buttons!
Outfit Details— top: SheIn, jeans: Express, shoes: Dingo, earrings: Romwe, necklace: The Silver Heron, watch: Fossil, bracelets: Mantra Band
I know some people may say this outfit is “too cold” for them, but this is pretty standard going out attire all year long here in Kent, Ohio lol. This top is under $10 from SheIn and it is hands down one of the best tops I’ve ever gotten from them. It feels and looks far more expensive than it is and the lace-up detail along the back is effortlessly sexy.
Black jeans are my go-to for going out so I slipped into my favorite pair and added black heels. I always love the confidence boost heels give me! To complete my outfit I added a pair of statement earrings from Express in a similar hue. How cute!

Everyone has a favorite graphic tee and pair of leggings in their closet. Chances are if you’re running late, they are the combo you reach for too! Simply pop on a cropped teddy coat over top for added warmth. These proportions will help make your outfit more visually appealing too which is always a plus. I added new white Nikes and hoops to finish off this super simple outfit. This is a go-to for class days!
Outfit Details— jacket: SheIn, tee: Romwe, leggings: Spanx, sneakers: Nike, earrings: SheIn
