Nothing screams ~all dressed up with nowhere to go~ quite like Thanksgiving; am I right?! While Thanksgiving is meant to give thanks, spend time with your loved ones, and stuff your face with yummy food, it’s also meant for a killer outfit. I mean, when else do you get to wear an iconic outfit just to laze around all day?
With it officially being November, I figured now is the perfect time to start cranking out the outfit ideas for you! Today I’m sharing five of my favorite outfit ideas to sport this Thanksgiving. I’ve got something for everyone— whether you’re wanting to strut your stuff to the dinner table or chill out in sweats!
Starting off with a sweater dress moment because there’s no better outfit idea for Thanksgiving. I choose to wear a dress every year for two reasons: 1) they are loose so you can eat as much as you want without seeing your food baby 2) you don’t have to wear pants!
Everyone always laughs when I tell them why but those are two very important reasons if you ask me. I just grabbed this burnt orange sweater dress and it’s perfect for the occasion. The color is so perfect for this time of year and it’s thicker than a normal dress so you’ll keep warm!
To give the dress some shape, I belted it with a big ole buckle belt. This one is a favorite of mine and it makes such a statement. For shoes, I dressed things up with a pair of black sock booties. I love the heel height on these! If you want a little extra warmth, throw on tights and a faux fur coat.

Did someone say, school girl?! I know I sure did. I just received this button up and pleated skirt combo from SheIn and obsessed is an understatement. Not only are these pieces super trendy this fall but they work perfectly for Thanksgiving. This is a safe and sophisticated outfit choice, especially if you’ll be around extended family!
Don’t worry, you’ll still win best-dressed thanks to the burnt orange color scheme and a cute felt hat to go with! I’ve been wearing this one from Lulus all fall long and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
For shoes, I slipped into a coordinating pair of sock booties from Fashion Nova. Of course, I threw on a pair of lettuce hem socks for a feminine touch. I love how these peek over the boots! I have a feeling this will be the outfit I choose to wear this year.

There’s nothing I love more than sheer tights with my favorite shorts/skirts. I break out this combination all the time in the fall to help me get extra wear out of my summer pieces and to make me feel like I’m ~city chic~. These burnt orange shorts have the cutest ruffle along the bottom and are a corduroy material that’s so on trend this season.
For my top, I just went with a black fitted bodysuit to seamlessly tuck into the bottoms. I reach for this one constantly in the fall as it’s such a staple. I then tied the look together with a few simple accessories— gold hoops, a black and gold ring belt, and my everyday watch!
I slipped into a pair of black sock booties for a little lift but you could totally swap these out for something flat if that’s more your vibe!

If you like to keep things a bit more casual on Thanksgiving, no worries! Jeans and a sweater are a never-fail option. I recommend reaching for a color that’s a bit more festive like the one I have on here. As you can tell, I’m clearly loving this hue right now! I’ve been picking so much of this color up recently and decided that all of these pieces would be super fitting for the holiday.
This sweater is from SheIn and is a cozy cable knit and would look adorable with black leggings and a denim jacket too! I decided to go the jeans route and reached for my favorite pair of cropped flares from Express. I wear these weekly and they have the best fit! To finish off the outfit I slipped into a simple tan mule and a snakeskin belt to match.

And if you’re a couch potato who likes to move from couch to dining room table and back again, there’s no shame in your game! In fact, I have a feeling more of us are going to fall under this category this year than we’d like to admit.
Even so, I’ll still be doing it in style! This matching lounge set just came in from SheIn and I was blown away by the quality of it. These pieces are the softest material with a thick, fleece lining that’s so cozy! Plus, it’s in that same burnt orange color that’s so festive for the occasion.
Keep the same set on for Friday’s Black Friday errands and slip into Ugg sneakers to finish off the outfit. These are my go-to shoes if I plan on being on my feet all day. The soles are super thick and they have tons of support making them perfect for a shopping trip.

Although Thanksgiving definitely ranks low on my list of favorite holidays, I’ve got to admit, there’s nothing I love more than getting dressed up for the occasion. I hope this post gave you some outfit inspiration for the big day, even if you are just keeping things low-key this year. If you want to see part 2 of this blog post, be sure to let me know and I’ll get right to work on it. Happy holidays!
