It’s crazy to think that when 2020 started I I didn’t own a pair of joggers. I’ve collected dozens of pairs throughout the year and they have quickly become a staple in my wardrobe. And not just joggers— all things cozy: sweatshirts, sneakers, and leggings included. The deeper I get into my college career, the more I realize there’s no shame in bumming it for the day. In fact, sometimes it’s just what the doctor ordered.
However, “bumming it” doesn’t have to equal an ugly outfit. Today I’m sharing three ways to wear comfy clothes while still looking presentable. I love looking cute and trendy even if it does mean a full day of working from home. You don’t have to sacrifice style for comfort—here are some of my current favorite outfit combos!
I got my first pair of Spanx leather leggings over the summer and have three pairs now and oh my gosh are they worth every penny. I personally hate wearing workout leggings with “normal” clothes, so Spanx are the perfect option for dressier loungewear. These bottoms are such high quality and suck you in at all the right places. The leather finish is to die for and will leave you looking far more polished than your average black leggings.
Some days I dress these up with sweaters and boots and others I dress em down with an oversized hoodie like today. I have this one in a couple of colors and it’s one of the best. It’s super soft and is the perfect amount of oversized. I love the casual yet cute look of a flannel layered over a hoodie. I just picked this one up and the neutral color palette pairs with everything.
Pop on a pair of chunky sneakers to complete the look. If you’re feeling spunky, go for a crossbody purse. I just grabbed this one from SheIn and I love how similar it is to the Prada nylon bag. It fits all the essentials and gives this outfit a little bit of edginess.

Boohoo is by far my favorite place to shop for loungewear. They’ve got dozens of styles to choose from at a super affordable price point. These joggers are among my favorites from them. These are called the Basic Regular Fit Joggers and I have them in six colors now because they are just that good.
I wore these all the time last winter as they’ve got a super thick, fleece lining that keeps the wind from blowing right through. They have a tapered fit that looks less frumpy than your average sweatpants making these an awesome option if you want to look a little more put together. Because these are pretty high waisted, I always pair them with a cropped long sleeve. This basic white one is from Romwe.
One of my favorite ways to wear loungewear is to pair similar hues together but in different textures. So, I reached for a light tan puffer coat. This one is a corduroy material so it gives a simple outfit an unexpected twist. Plus, a jacket is definitely necessary these days. My sneakers are a mix of light tan and white so they completed this outfit perfectly. This is such a simple pairing but one I wear constantly on my work from home days.

Who says your loungewear has to be boring? It definitely doesn’t! I’ve seen tons of bloggers sporting this style lately so I decided it was time for me to give it a try. Start off in a monochrome outfit—I reached for comfy joggers that are a bit baggier than the last ones. I also threw on a long sleeve crop top; I have this one in several colors and it’s a staple in my “comfy closet”.
I’ve always stuck to sneakers with my sweats but thought I’d throw on a pair of black Chelsea boots and I have to admit, I am obsessed. I love how classy they look together! I added gold hoops and a chunky gold necklace to accessorize. You’d be surprised how much a few simple accessories can change up your look.
However, the key to this outfit is layering a coat over top. Every girl needs a knee-length wool coat. I have a camel and a black version and wear them all the time. They instantly dress up any outfit and even when paired with sweats they leave the outfit looking so polished and put together. They aren’t the warmest coats in the world but they make all the difference as far as style goes.

A day in comfy clothes doesn’t have to result in your ratty old highschool sports tee. Pick up a few basic pairs of joggers, sweatshirts, and tees and you are all set for the winter. There are endless ways to sport your loungewear and even more ways to do it in style!
I hope this post gave you a little bit of outfit inspiration. Make sure you’re tuning in to Sunday’s Weekly Wrap Up’s. I tend to wear loungewear a few times a week so I always have real-time outfit ideas in those posts as well. Let me know if you’d like to see more sweats styled in future posts.
