Once fall and winter roll around I get into the habit of only reaching for neutrals. My closet consists entirely of black, white, tans, and denim. And as much as I love the versatility of those hues, I decided it was time to break out of my shell and start reaching for some color this season.
I received a huge order of clothes from Romwe for Cyber Monday including tons of colored items. I grabbed tons of burnt orange, maroon, and reds for the holiday season and loved it all. Today I’m sharing how to wear these gorgeous hues this time of year! I’ve got a feeling I’ll be breaking out of my shell a little more often now.
It’s so rare that I reach for red but something about this warm, barn red top was calling my name. And I’m so glad it was because I couldn’t love it more. Everything about this top is flattering from the ruched cups to the statement sleeves, to the tie back detailing!
I know many of you aren’t huge fans of crop tops but when paired with high-rise jeans you can totally make them work in the fall. This pair is from Express and they are hands down my most worn jeans. I wear a size 00 regular and am 5’2 for reference.
This shirt gives me such a bohemian feel and I wanted to keep that feeling consistent throughout. Which of course resulted in me wearing this nude felt hat for the gazillionth day in a row. It seriously pulls every outfit together! I popped on a pair of crochet statement earrings and nude sock booties to finish off this look.

Have you seen these tube top-cardigan duos?! They are dominating the fashion industry right now and give me such nineties vibes. This one from Romwe is under $20 and so on-trend. It comes in a few different colors but I decided to break out of my comfort zone a bit and reach for the maroon! You could totally wear this cardigan buttoned up as a pullover which makes this piece even more versatile.
For bottoms, I threw on another pair of high rise jeans from Express. These have a relaxed, mom fit that’s flattering on so many different body shapes. They are final sale right now so grab them while you can. Accessorizing this sweater is key— I went with cat-eye sunglasses and pulled my hair back with a claw clip to keep that 90s feel consistent throughout.

If you read Monday’s blog post you’d know that sweater dresses are a staple in my wardrobe during the fall. I love how unique the fit of this one is— it’s got a looser top half with a batwing sleeve and cross front neckline. It’s a bit more fitted on the lower half hugging the bum and accentuating the waist with the belt. This would be the perfect piece for a holiday party or a winter wedding as it’s a festive hue and will keep you warm.
Similar to that first look, I reached for nude heels, and the same felt hat. I threw on the cutest crossbody purse and a pair of butterfly statement earrings to finish off the look. If you’re headed to an event that’s a bit fancier, swap the boots for heels and ditch the hat—you’ll look holiday chic in no time! I know this is a bold color to rock but you’ll definitely make the best-dressed list in this piece.
