I can’t seem to slow down on the denim buying this year! I’ve gone through so many different jean phases over the last few months and right now I’m on a straight leg kick. I’ve never been one to reach for this style as I’ve always felt they swallow my petite frame.
But with so many bloggers rocking them on my feed lately and Express running a 50% off sale, I decided it was time to give them another try. And boy am I glad I did! Today I’m styling two new pairs of straight leg jeans and sharing a few other Express favorites that are currently on sale.
These jeans are so far out of my comfort zone: light wash, ripped, and a straight leg?! That’s a triple threat of characteristics I usually stray away from and yet these jeans looked so cute on the model I just couldn’t resist. The number one question I get about Express jeans is related to size. I am 5’2 and wear a size 00 in all of their jeans. Although they do offer a petite and tall option, I always go with the regular as I do have long legs.
The key to styling baggier jeans like these is reaching for something fitted up top. I tucked a solid black bodysuit into my bottoms and for shoes, slipped into black sock booties. I love how sleek this combination looks together. However, it’s a little too cold out these days to leave the outfit at that. I popped on the most amazing wool coat from SheIn. This coat is so warm and the sherpa lining is incredibly soft. With a matching bucket hat, you look extra trendy!

Who doesn’t love a good pair of black jeans?! They are definitely my most reached for wash this time of year and I decided now was the time to add a pair of straight legs to my collection. These have a slimmer fit than the last pair, tapering in at the ankle. They also are more of an ankle-length which is my favorite!
As you can tell, I’m loving mixing browns and blacks right now so this combination was right up my alley. I love fuzzy turtlenecks and by front-tucking yours into your jeans, you get a little bit of shape back. Again, I reached for sock booties— this time a pair of nude ones from Fashion Nova. I wear these all the time; they pair with everything and have a super manageable heel. To switch things up, I reached for silver hoops and a black crossbody purse.

While I’m totally loving these two new styles, I’ve got dozens of other Express jeans in my collection. I’m linking so many favorites here for you to shop. With the holidays right around the corner, they’ve been running sales left and right so you’re sure to score a good deal! Make sure you are signing up for emails to save even more money on your purchase.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a few more pairs on the way, LOL! I can’t resist using my monthly gift card on jeans because they fit me like a glove. Plus, it’s what I wear the most on an everyday basis. I’ll be sure to share those other new pairs with you as soon as they get here. In the meantime, happy denim shopping.
With love, McKenz
