I blinked and suddenly fall slipped away, replaced by all things festive for the holiday season! I know it’s about time for me to start sharing party attire, New Year’s Eve outfits, and last-minute gift guides but before the rush begins, I wanted to officially close out fall with one final blog post.
Today I’m teaming up with Zaful to share eight outfit ideas fit for this “end of season” time. Of course, today is mirror style—I know how much you love blog posts this style. Upon popular request, my final mirror photos of the year (before heading home for winter break) will be my 16 winter date night outfits. Hang tight; I promise it’s in the works and coming your way next week.
Starting off with this outfit because it’s definitely my favorite. So much so that it’s what I wore yesterday for class! I never thought I’d be loving flannels again but here we are. This flannel is so soft with the perfect fit— not too tight but not too oversized that I’m swimming in it either. I love wearing these buttoned-up but today I chose to switch things up and pair a matching long sleeve underneath for an extra layer.
Because my top is on the cropped side, a pair of high-rise jeans were a must. I just shared these new Express jeans in Monday’s blog post and am loving them so much I had to pull them out again. I love the relaxed fit and paired with some slip-on mules you’ve completed an effortless outfit.

Who doesn’t love a good plaid moment? As cute as this sweater is, it runs super small so I highly recommend going up two sizes if you choose to order. Needless to say, mine definitely needed a pair of high-rise jeans. I went with my favorite black flares from Fashion Nova. These suck you in at all the right places and are incredibly slimming along the waist.
To complement the white in my sweater I reached for a pair of white booties and accessorized with one of my favorite baguette bags from SheIn.

Feeling festive in this outfit combo. If you know me you know how much I love a leather shorts and tights moment. This combination is perfect for a holiday party and looks so chic with a pair of heeled sock booties. You can dress the look up even more with a chain bag and a cute ring belt.
Depending on what you wear up top, you can really alter the vibe of this outfit. I went with a chunky cable-knit sweater from Zaful. The red is perfect for the holidays! You could always go with a bodysuit and a cute piece of outwear too if you wanted to make this outfit a bit dressier. I find that this combination works for almost any occasion.

Although fall is winding down, I’ll be hanging onto my felt hats as long as I can! They complete every outfit so well, especially something casual like this combo here. I grabbed this cropped turtleneck in two colors since I loved the fit of it so much. It’s got just enough boxiness and works so well with my new straight leg jeans from Express.
These are super high-waisted so you don’t have to worry about exposing too much skin. For shoes, I slipped into a favorite pair of mules. I can be on my feet for hours in these bad boys—they are so comfy! Plus, they match my hat to a tee.

Would it really be a Styled by McKenz blog post without a star outfit? Heck no! I’ve got dozens of star sweaters and yet this burnt orange one was still calling my name. It reminds me of an old varsity sweater with its v neck detail and distressed hems. I front tucked mine into a pair of black cropped flare jeans that I belted with a good ole gold chain.
This outfit called for the white booties— I have a few pairs but always recommend the Chinese Laundry ones for a higher quality, comfier fit. Don’t forget matching star earrings to finish off the look!

Finally had to hop on the bandwagon and give the sweatshirt, shacket, skirt combination a whirl. I have to admit, It’s starting to make sense why so many people are raving about this outfit over on Tik Tok—it’s incredibly comfortable and looks adorable on. I love pairing my pleated skirts with chunky sneakers. Don’t forget a pair of crew socks for good measure.
Up top, I layered an oversized shacket over a cozy hoodie. This will keep you super warm and works well with leggings, jeans, or even joggers too if a skirt is too feminine for ya! I threw on a pair of blue light glasses to give this outfit all the school-girl vibes.

I know, I know it’s a little chilly for this outfit but it seemed fitting for the holidays. Plus, with a fun faux fur over top, you’d be good to go for a night out. I know holiday gatherings are going to look different this year but I figured even when keeping it to just the fam, I’ll still be getting dolled up. Gotta fake it till you make it baby!
This velvet bodysuit is a dream and looks amazing tucked into a mini skirt. I reached for my favorite lace-up heels to elongate the legs, huge statement earrings for a little extra drama, and a matching crossbody to hold all of the essentials!

I’d say teddy coats are back but I don’t think they ever really left. I just grabbed a new one from Zaful and am so impressed by the quality. It’s super soft and is just the right size for layering chunky knits and flannels underneath. This time around I tucked a black bodysuit into a pair of cropped flare jeans. These are also new from Express and fit me like a glove!
I always reach for booties with a higher shaft to keep my ankles warm; this pair from Chinese Laundry is awesome for long days of walking. Pop on a statement coat and you’re good to go. I, of course, had to layer on some gold jewels and a cute crossbody!
