It’s hard to believe at the beginning of 2020 I had never tried a pair of Spanx leggings. Their bottoms have quickly become staples in my closet, so much so, that I had to grab a few more pairs to revamp my collection. I’ll admit, they are definitely an investment piece but they are worth every penny.
Not only do their leggings have a bit of shapewear built in that hugs your curves in all the right places, but they are super durable, withstanding hundreds of wears without stretching out. Today I’m sharing four ways to style Spanx this winter—whether you’re wanting to dress up or keep things casual, I’ve got you covered!
Let’s talk about the new faux patent leather leggings because oh my gosh, they deserve all the hype. I typically wear their regular faux leather leggings but wanted to test out the patent leather after seeing a few bloggers rock them on Instagram. While these are definitely the kind of pants you have to jump to get into, once you have them on they look incredible! The finish of these is super shiny adding texture to your look in no time.
The best part about these is they are incredibly versatile. I dressed them down this weekend with an oversized graphic tee and chunky sneakers and up for today’s blog post. I went with a longer sweater to cover my tush and black heeled booties for a little lift. Of course, a few gold accessories and a black chain bag were the perfect finishing touches. This outfit is so chic and I’m convinced these bottoms can be worn for everything—business casual, holiday party, parking garage photoshoot; you name it!

My least favorite thing ever is wearing workout leggings with “normal” clothes. I know it doesn’t bother most people but when dressing in casual clothes, I prefer a pair of black seamless leggings. I have the Look At Me Now leggings in gray camo as well and knew I loved them so I grabbed a black pair for everyday wear. These are incredibly comfortable and are just the right amount of high waisted. I size up to a Small in this specific style since they do run on the tighter side (I’m typically an XS).
This is my most reached for outfit combination when it comes to leggings. A hoodie with an oversized flannel over top and a pair of white sneakers is an effortless outfit idea. Not to mention it’s definitely the most common here at school. Pop on a beanie and some gold chunky jewelry to give this look an edgier vibe or keep things simple with a pair of hoops like I am here.

Whoever said leggings can’t be business casual never met the Spanx velvet leggings! I was iffy about picking these up but I’m so glad I did—I’ve already styled these a few times and am absolutely obsessed with them. These come in four different colors and are so easy to dress up. The plush finish is super soft and looks extra classy.
The key to getting away with leggings in the office is wearing a longer sweater. This one covers the butt and is definitely office appropriate. Then, slip into a knee-length coat. This camel one has been on repeat all season long. It’s a staple in my closet and makes every outfit look so polished and professional. Reach for a pair of heeled knee-high boots for a trendy finish. Oh, and don’t forget a gold chain necklace to make this outfit look straight out of New York City.

I’m all about keeping things casual, especially since I spend 90% of my day in my college apartment. You can’t go wrong with a cropped sweatshirt and leggings. However, if you’re gonna reach for an outfit combo this basic, I recommend upgrading your legging game. These faux leather leggings are a fun twist on your everyday bottoms and the camo adds a little something-something to the look.
I know most of you (myself included) are probably used to wearing sneakers with your leggings but recently I’ve tried branching out with black booties and I’ve got to admit, I’m kind of digging it! Plus, these will keep your ankles from getting cold in the winter. I’m keeping things edgy by throwing on an oversized puffer coat—the pleather finish pairs perfectly with the leggings. I am obsessed.
