Well, it’s safe to say the loungewear trend isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, especially with many states contemplating a second shut down. And while I’m totally fine sticking to sweatpants for a few more months—after all, they definitely are the comfiest (and coziest option)— I have to admit, I’m starting to feel a little bummy when wearing them.
So, I took it upon myself to scour Pinterest for some “dressed up loungewear” inspiration and thankfully, found tons. I went straight to my closet to start playing around with these new styles and came up with some super cute looks. In case you’re in a sweatpants rut too, today I’m sharing with you three ways to dress up your loungewear. With just a few simple tricks you’ll feel boujee yet comfy in no time!
Hands down the easiest way to “dress up” your joggers is to swap your sneakers for a pair of boots. Believe me, there’s nothing wrong with still sporting your favorite chunky sneakers but reaching for black booties instead will instantly make you feel more put together. I’ve been loving this pair from SheIn—they’re just the right mix of casual yet classy. Plus, boots will give you a little extra warmth which is always appreciated in the winter. Add frilly socks if you want a feminine accent.
I’m a sucker for white joggers and have this specific style from Boohoo in three colors now. They’ve got an elastic waistband and an oversized fit that’s super comfortable for lounging around. Rather than reaching for my typical crop top, I threw on a black turtleneck bodysuit. This gave the look a super polished feel, especially when paired with the boots. From there I accessorized with a pair of hoops and my new favorite crossbody bag. This style is so trendy right now and instantly gives your outfit an edgy feel. Pop on a knee-length coat for an extra layer and boom, instant model off duty vibes.

Agh, the good ole days of DIY bleached Walmart pants and tie-dye hoodies…. those days of quarantine feel like so long ago. And while it’s safe to say I’ve retired my tie-dye (for now) I still haven’t gotten over the matching sweatsuit trend. There is truly no other outfit combination that’s easier to wear. However, instead of keeping my hoodie zipped, I’m switching things up and leaving it open, layering a solid white mock neck underneath, and a gold chain over top. And just like that, you’ve completely altered the vibe of the sweat set.
Of course, these joggers are also from Boohoo— they have the best loungewear selection in my opinion. I recommend sizing down if you choose to purchase these $12 joggers as they definitely run big. I’m then swapping my usual Ugg slippers for a pair of high-top sneakers. I love high-tops as they keep things casual but in a more elevated way—does that make sense, lol?! Throw on a baguette bag and a pair of hoops and you’re good to go! This look is essentially just tons of basics thrown together and yet it’s anything but boring.

Remember the days when wearing gray on gray was a bad thing? I’m so glad that’s a thing of the past because I rock groutfits all the time now. Truthfully, nothing makes me feel more put together than a monochrome outfit. I’m starting off in a solid long sleeve top from Boohoo and a pair of matching joggers. I have both of these pieces in multiple colors and they’ve quickly become essentials in my closet.
The key to taking these basics to the next level is layering with leather. This puffer coat is my new favorite piece to style—it’s just the right amount of oversized and it’s surprisingly warm. Wear it zipped up or leave it hanging off the shoulders for a photo opp! I slipped into those same black leather booties from the first look. Leather adds just enough texture to the outfit, elevating your sweats in an unexpected way. Pop on black sunnies if you’re really wanting to steal the show.

I can’t say I’ve mastered the “cool girl” loungewear but I’m getting there one outfit at a time. Make sure to check out Boohoo for all kinds of adorable loungewear and use code BOOHOOU for 55% off your entire purchase. Let me know which look was your favorite in the comments below and if you’d like to see more sweatpants styled in the coming weeks. I’d be more than happy to crank out some more loungewear looks for you!
