Agh, I cannot believe how fast the holidays crept up on me this year! It wasn’t until I got home from college on Friday that I realized how soon Christmas actually is—time seems so foreign at school. It only felt right for my first photoshoot back home to be dedicated to a few last-minute holiday outfit ideas.
I know everyone’s Christmas is going to look a bit different than expected but I figured styling some new Windsor pieces would help spread some holiday cheer. I’ve got you covered for all of your gatherings— casual to cocktail.
When asking you all what the typical “dress code” is for your holiday gatherings, a huge portion of you responded with a sweater and jeans. This answer didn’t shock me, in fact, I was quite certain that this would be the most popular response. And since it’s definitely my go-to on an everyday basis, this was the easiest look for me to pull together.
It’s the holidays so a little bit of red feels like a given. I just got this cute sweater in the mail and it’s the perfect hue for this time of year. Stick to the basics when styling the rest of this look— I went for a pair of black cropped flare jeans from Express and my favorite nude sock booties. These give me just enough lift and dress this causal combo up just a tad!
To tie the neutrals and my sweater together, I accessorized with a cozy blanket scarf. This color palette matched the rest of this look to a tee! I popped on just a few gold accessories to complete my look. This is such a simple outfit combo to recreate and a never-fail when going to a holiday gathering this year!

I know what you’re probably thinking…. joggers for a holiday party…. really, McKenzie?! Hear me out; a pair of joggers like these maroon velvet ones are just the kind of statement you should be making this time of year. Not only are these pants super comfortable but they are so easy to dress up. I’m wearing a size XS and they fit perfect— they’ve got a real drawstring waist and are just the right length.
Styling these babies is a piece of cake. Start off with a black bodysuit. This one’s got a deep v-neck and sleeves that bishop out just a tad. For shoes, I reached for my favorite black sock booties. These will elongate the legs and give you a little extra height which is a plus if you’re petite like me. Pop on gold hoops and a chain-link bag to hold all of the essentials.

I know many holiday occasions call for something a little fancier and if you’re anything like me, you’ll be all dolled up for Christmas Eve dinner + photos regardless. If you’re in the same boat and looking for the perfect outfit, I always recommend starting off with a little black dress. Chances are you’ve already got one and with a few pops of red, you’ll look festive in no time.
My dress is a few seasons old from SheIn but my shoes are another new Windsor find and I couldn’t be more obsessed. These come in a few different colors and are such a show stopper for the holiday season. These are definitely on the taller side but thanks to their chunky heel and platform soles they are easier to walk in than they may seem. Lace-up straps will instantly slim the legs and leave them looking miles long. Throw on a red lip if you’re feeling extra bold.

I’m sure very few of you have an occasion fancy enough for this green beauty but this dress was too good not to share. Plus, I tend to be the ~Beyonce~ of the family—shocking nobody if I arrived at the dinner table in this ensemble, LOL! But seriously, I picked up this satin maxi dress from Windsor and it is incredible.
I’m wearing an XS in this dress and it hugs me in all the right places. I’m not a very curvy girl but this accentuates my figure just right. Not to mention a cowl neck is so timelessly elegant. With a bold statement earring and a simple gold cuff, this look is perfect for family photos, a winter wedding, or even a sorority formal around the holiday time! I cannot recommend this dress enough— it comes in a few different colors too.

Our Christmas is definitely going to be looking different this year. Things should be pretty lowkey around here but I’ll (of course) be getting dressed up still. As I’ve said for all of these quarantine holidays ~gotta fake it till we make it~. I can’t wait to show you what I end up sporting to the living room, haha. Stay tuned. Sending hugs to everyone whose holiday is looking different than expected this year.
With love, McKenz
