Remember the early days of quarantine you swore you’d never download Tik Tok and then sheer boredom hit and you were left with no choice? Yea, me too. Here we are months later and it’s one of my most-used apps—I could sit there for hours mindlessly scrolling, looking for a good laugh or a new hack.
Lately, I’ve been glued to #fashiontiktok and have been bingeing so many influencers who share their style with others. Let’s just say I’ve clearly been ~influenced~ by their outfit ideas; when placing my last Romwe order I found myself adding tons of similar pieces to my cart. Because if Tik Tok says it’s trendy then it must be trendy—right?! Why else would we suddenly be craving sweater vests…
I’m trying something new today and sharing my take on the latest Tik Tok fashion trends! Oh, and of course doing it parking garage style because they too have made that the new wave.
I mentioned in one of my final posts of 2020 that “school uniform” vibes are suddenly all the rage. I love the look of an oversized button-up with a sweater vest layered over top but was struggling to find one that didn’t swallow me whole. When I saw this collared dress I knew I had to have it—this is perfect for layering, especially if you’re on the taller side and can’t get away with wearing shirts as dresses.
This sweater vest is the perfect basic and comes in dozens of colors! As silly as I feel wearing them- they help add some warmth without any bulk in the arms which I always appreciate.
Tights would’ve been super cute with this look too but I kept my legs bare and popped on some chunky black booties. The key to this outfit is the cute crossbody bag. This style is so trendy right now and I’m not complaining—they are SO practical. Because there are two pieces to this purse, you get extra space and can easily organize your belongings. Plus the cute coin pouch is the perfect size for your mask. I’ve been wearing this one from Romwe so much lately. It’s the best!

Nothing better than a trend that comes back around- these Varsity style necklines were so popular back in the day and are coming back strong in 2021! I love how classic this style is and yet the cable knit is still on-trend.
I’m always a sucker for jeans and a sweater so this outfit is no different than my usual. I popped on some of my favorite black boots from Chinese Laundry! I’m a sucker for a thick sole and these are a little more square in the toe which is another detail we will be seeing a lot of this season.
Spice up your everyday combo with a chain necklace, gold hoops, and a claw clip. I’m so glad claw clips are big again-they are the easiest way to conceal your unwashed hair, lol! Plus they make you look so effortlessly put together.

Oh baby I never thought I’d be a fan or brown again but here we are…. #tiktokmademedoit. I have this oversized puffer in black and loved it so much that when they released it in a light tan too, I just had to get my hands on it. It gives off such edgy, ~cool girl~ vibes which I love.
I’m keeping the rest of my outfit rather simple. This solid black turtleneck bodysuit tucked effortlessly into a pair of straight-leg jeans—another trend that Tik Tok convinced me to try out. I’ve always felt that this style would swallow my petite frame but these fit me perfectly and with something fitted up top you’re good to go!
However, no outfit is complete without a few accessories. These rectangular sunnies truly take every outfit to the next level. I layered on a couple of gold necklaces and threw my hair up into a claw clip. Such an easy outfit idea and yet one that looks straight off of a NYC side street.

I had so much fun stepping out of my comfort zone for today’s blog post and have been loving testing new styles thanks to Tik Tok. Let me know if I should do a part two of this blogpost within the coming weeks. I’ve got a feeling they’ll have me hooked on something new in no time. If you’re not following me on Tik Tok be sure to do so—I make videos every now and then when I’m feeling ~inspired~.
With love, McKenz
