When Ohio temperatures get above forty degrees in the middle of February, you have to celebrate. So yesterday afternoon I grabbed my camera and a few new dresses and headed out to snap a few photos downtown. I can’t lie, it was so refreshing getting to break out some of my spring sandals and not having to blast the heat during each outfit change.
I’m crossing my fingers that the sunshine sticks around for a bit. We could definitely use it around here! In the meantime, I’m styling four super cute dresses that I just added to my closet. I’ve got a spring haul with SheIn going live tomorrow featuring some of these pieces; make sure you’re subscribed to my YouTube channel so you don’t miss out on the fun!
If you’ve been with me for some time then this blazer dress may look familiar. I actually wore the same one in a light lilac to New York Fashion Week this time last year. Granted I styled it with a sparkly belt and matching tights but it was definitely one of my most loved looks of 2020. When I saw they came out with the dress in white I decided it was only right to get my hands on it.
Although it may not seem like it, this dress is incredibly versatile. As you can tell from the sounds of my NYFW outfit, I went an entirely different route with today’s look. I’m getting “first day back to the office” vibes from this look. This dress is such high quality with a very structured silhouette and small shoulder pads to give it some shape. It’s a very sophisticated length and looks adorable buttoned up. However, you could totally leave this piece open and wear a fitted bodycon underneath to make this more “street style” approved.
I wanted to keep this outfit monochromatic and reached for a pair of white block heels to go with. I am a sucker for anything that laces up as this detail elongates and slims the legs instantly. Plus this two-inch heel is super comfortable so if you’re standing on your feet all day, you’ll be good to go! Adding gold hoops and a cute baguette bag for good measure.

I mentioned here on the blog last week that corsets are hands down one of spring 2021’s hottest trends. They are taking all new forms since their 1800’s debut. Although this dress doesn’t have a corset, we’re seeing elements of one reworked into the piece. This criss-cross detailing across the front and back of the dress actually allows you to synch the waist, hugging you at your smallest point.
I adore an unexpected sleeve and this cap style did not disappoint. I’m usually not one for this style but there are several layers to this dress making the skirt super full—I sure do love a good twirling piece! To play off of the tie details in the bodice of this dress, I reached for a pair of black lace-up heels. Sadly these beauties are sold out; this square toe style is going to be super popular this season. They tend to be much easier to walk in so I’m not disappointed by this at all!

I can’t seem to shut up about chocolate brown these days…. sorry, y’all! I feel like every blog post of mine incorporates some outfit in this color and I’m *definitely* not stopping today. I have plenty of bright hues and bold patterns when it comes to summer maxi dresses but I very rarely wear them in the spring.
When I stumbled upon this maxi dress on SheIn’s site a few weeks back it instantly caught my eye. It’s rare you see a maxi with long sleeves, let alone a silhouette that’s semi-flattering. I almost never reach for bodycons but this high leg slit keeps things casual. I love a good wrap front too!
As much as I love a good pair of heels I figured this was a good time to break out the boots! I added these nude booties to my collection months ago and they are still some of my favorites. To give things a little bohemian spice I’m popping on my favorite felt hat and a pair of butterfly earrings. I wish I had somewhere fun to sport this outfit too—it’s the cutest!

Don’t be fooled—the classic little black dress comes in all shapes and sizes! My latest addition is this black button-up. I picked this up with the intention of wearing it underneath a sweater vest as I’ve been seeing that layered look everywhere recently. However, once I tried it on I realized the silhouette of it was much more flattering on its own. It’s got a super relaxed fit up top and a fitted bottom half. Pop on a blazer and a pair of tights and this look would be good to go for a day in the office!
You know me and my love for sock booties. This outfit seemed like the perfect time for them—with a three-inch heel and a pointed toe these give me just enough lift, making the legs look miles long. I finished off the outfit with a cute chain-link purse from SheIn and my everyday gold jewelry.

I hope you enjoyed seeing a few dresses on your feed today! I know those winter blues tend to hit a little harder this time of year but push through. The end of the semester is closer than you think and soon you’ll be (hopefully) sunkissed in the sand. I shared a few more spring dress trends to look out for last week on the blog—don’t forget to check those out too! I’ve got a feeling I’ll have plenty more dresses to share with you in the coming weeks. Keep your eyes out!
With love, McKenz
