I always get lots of requests for wedding guest dress ideas this time of year. However, I’m getting more than ever right now due to all of the Covid brides having their special day pushed back a year! With double the weddings, I’m putting in double the time to try and find all kinds of options that are perfect for your upcoming events. Keep in mind, the “dress code” for all weddings is a bit different. While some weddings are black tie, others are beachy casual. Try to get a feel for the “vibe” before doing your shopping!
Starting off today, I’m sharing a mix of Lulus and Hello Molly dresses with you—two of my favorite places to shop for formal attire. In a few weeks, I will be sharing part two featuring a few more affordable options too. Stay tuned and congratulations to all of the beautiful ladies getting married this season! Cheers to forever happiness.
I know I said this was a wedding guest dress lookbook, but this romper was just too cute not to share with you. Rompers are becoming more and more popular with each passing season. With the look of a dress, but the mobility of shorts it’s easy to see why so many people are falling in love with this style. You can definitely break it down on the dance floor in this cutie!
I’m not usually a big fan of purple but something about this pretty pastel instantly caught my eye. This romper also comes in a light nude that is the perfect neutral. I love a piece like this because it’s incredibly versatile. Dress it up with heels and a clutch for your wedding and down with a pair of sandals and a cute crossbody for a weekend stroll around town!

Oh, how I love a good maxi dress. These are definitely the move if you’re headed to an evening ceremony. It can get quite chilly at nighttime and a longer dress will give you a little extra coverage as temperatures drop. This dress comes in navy, deep purple, and this adorable sage green that is so on-trend.
I’m a sucker for all of the ties. Self-tying straps are a lifesaver as they cater to all chest shapes and sizes. This one also has a tie along the center that leaves you with a little cleavage, and a big one along the back of the dress, giving you the perfect backless moment.
Although this dress would be the perfect length paired with falts, I threw on a pair of gold metallic heels so I could lift the skirt off the ground a bit, allowing me to twirl the night away. A pair of gold statement earrings and simple jewels are all you need to complete this look.

Something about a beach wedding just seems so fun! This beautiful blue dress would work perfectly for a venue by the water. I love the bright blue and this mini dress comes in a handful of other color options. Several ruffles give this dress volume while the belted detail helps accentuate the waist.
Although you may want to forgo the heels if you’re headed to a sandy ceremony, these are my go-to for any occasion. These are 2.5-inch nude heels from Target. I’ve had them for years and have worn them to proms, graduations, and weddings. To keep the look a little more relaxed I’m reaching for a straw bag and crochet earrings.

There’s something so elegant about a satin dress. I just had to grab this one from Lulus. And while it doesn’t photograph nearly as well as it looks in person, it’s still such a unique addition to my dress collection. For starters, this dress is rather shapeless, with a shift-like fit throughout the hips, and a large ruffle along the train. Although this dress sort of just “hangs”, it does so in a way that I really love.
I’m a huge fan of this burnt orange hue. I have a wedding in late August that I think this will be just perfect for. To keep a warm color palette, I went with nude lace-up heels that give me a little extra lift. These definitely aren’t my most comfortable heels so if you’re planning on dancing the night away at the reception, I recommend bringing a change of shoes.
This neckline calls for an up-do + simple gold necklace moment. I love getting my hair out of my face with a claw clip. It gives off such a tousled yet effortless vibe.

Last but not least I had to share at least one bodycon dress. This one is from Hello Molly and has the most flattering fit to it. I shared a bunch of new dresses from them perfect for bride-to-be’s and wedding guests over on my YouTube channel today; you can check that video out here if you’re interested!
Nothing screams summer quite like floral! I love this small-scale print and the color palette here is so unique. To complement the bit of white in the dress I’m throwing on a pair of strappy heels and statement earrings. These puff sleeves are to die for and the sweet tie-front bust is the cutest touch!
