My next trip of the summer was to Miami, Florida for my first Miami Swim Week. Swim Week is essentially fashion week but for bikinis and resort wear. I went with two internet friends and we had an absolute blast. I’ll share more on the shows, trends to look out for, and other things to do in Miami later this week.
Most of our shows were in the evening which meant we had plenty of time to eat, explore, and relax by the water beforehand. I decided to split up the outfit guides for Miami— today I’m sharing ten outfits to wear during your next trip to Miami. These are pretty normal outfits, perfect for the average girl. On Friday I’ll share all the crazy, out-there pieces I wore to the shows themselves.
As per usual, links to everything can be found below (just click the pink text), and I tried my best to leave directions to as many photo locations as possible. I hope you love these looks—fair warning, it’s hot as all get out in the dead of July so come prepared!
You guys seem to love the airport outfits so of course, I had to throw today’s travel look into the mix! I’m typically more of a sporty girl, reaching for tennis skirts and sneakers for a travel day but during my Instagram live you all recommended that I switch it up. To keep me a bit covered I wore these new zebra pants from Petal and Pup. I’m absolutely obsessed with these–they are super breathable yet kept me from being too chilly on the plane.
Up top, I’m wearing my all-time favorite top from Express. This is from their Body Contour line and the quality is incredible. Double-lined, no bra needed, and on the full-length side. To keep things beachy, I popped on some shell earrings and threw on my gold lace-up sandals.

On our first night in Miami, we headed to a fancy Italian restaurant for dinner and we all got dressed in something midi. I reached for this two-piece set from Whitefox Boutique. I knew the cut of this would be perfect for a night out to dinner and that it was. The halter top has a deep v that’s incredibly flattering along the chest. The skirt is a fitted midi that accentuates every curve in the best way. It’s not the easiest to walk in since there is no slit, but it’s worth it for how good you look, lol.
I wanted to keep things super beachy since, after all, we are in Florida. I popped on my favorite straw shoes from Dolce Vita. These matched my bag perfectly—this round straw tote is from Sonja by Sonja Morgan and is always on repeat. It’s large enough to fit a change of clothes + all of my usual purse necessities which is why I use it time and time again. I’m obsessed! A high pony to beat the humidity + starfish earrings complimented this outfit beautifully.

Morning brunch isn’t complete unless you’re doing it in a floral maxi dress! This beauty is from Fashion Nova and yet the quality+ cut makes it look straight off the Free People rack. I love this mix of blue, yellow, and green + the ruffled details keep this piece extra flirty. I knew my feet would be exhausted from heels later on in the day, so I threw this outfit on with my same gold lace-up sandals. I’m not kidding when I say I wear these with everything—they are old from Express but I’ve linked a similar pair for you to shop. I threw on a pair of statement earrings and layered up on some Kendra Scott jewels.

When I unboxed this hot pink mini dress from Fashion Nova I knew it’d be in my suitcase for Miami. I got so many compliments on this piece. The cut and quality of it remind me of something from Oh Polly. I’m not usually a body con kind of girl, but this ruched tulle hugged my figure beautifully. It’s definitely more of a nighttime, clubbing dress but I wanted to give it more of a daytime vibe.
To do so, I threw on those same straw heels from Dolce Vita. These are the perfect mix of dressy and everyday. I borrowed Jule’s bag from a local Tulum boutique. The key to finishing off this outfit is in the layered, beaded necklaces. These are from SheIn and so fun.

Everything in Miami is a photo op—even grabbing your morning acai bowl. We ate by the pool so of course, I was in a bikini. This one is from Kotomi Swim. The pieces are sold separately so you can mix and match sizes if need be. The quality of their suits is unreal + their materials are sustainably sourced. I love this bright orange and although I’m not usually one for a string bikini, this one was so flattering. I left those same beaded necklaces from earlier on to spice up this suit.

Off to the beach in the cutest bikini from Hello Molly. This is another swimsuit brand that sells its pieces separately so you can mix and match sizes if need be. I’m wearing an XS in both and they could not fit me better. This is one of those underwire styles that is supportive + keeps your boobs in place all day long.
You run the risk of a nip slip in a lot of suits this style but this one has enough material to keep you in place all day long. The bottoms have the most flattering cut, with a high-rise fit that elongates the legs. They are definitely on the cheeky side but they make your butt look big in the best way possible. Don’t forget your sunnies here, your eyes will burn without them.

Sam and I headed to the beach early one morning to take some photos and enjoy the sunshine. This time around I’m wearing a one-piece from Aerie. This has a very standard fit along the front with a low back and cheeky bottoms. It’s so flattering + the neon makes you look crazy tan.
I popped on the most adorable beach pants over top. These crochet bottoms are from SheIn and are so Miami—everyone around me was wearing something similar. To keep my scalp from burning anymore I threw on a bucket hat to match. As per usual, my beach shoes of choice are my Rainbow flip-flops.

We lucked out big time with the weather, with just one rainy morning. Truthfully, I really didn’t bring anything to wear in the rain but luckily had a bubble umbrella to pop over this outfit. For this look, I have on another Petal and Pup piece. I love the sweet babydoll cut and bright yellow gingham. This would be the perfect outfit for a mid-day stroll around the city (although it’s rather modest for Miami, lol) or brunch with the girls. I finally got my hands on a pair of white mules! I’ve been talking about them for weeks now and finally snagged a pair from SheIn. These are just the right height for walking around.

I’m a sucker for a mini dress. If you’re headed out in Miami, pretty much anything goes. There are people wearing bathing suit bottoms as pants and others dressed to the nines. I didn’t have the chance to wear this to a show but I still pulled it out for some pictures along the rooftop.
There are so many different rooftop pools, bars, and clubs in this area that you’ll fit in quite well in a satin mini dress. I’m obsessed with this dark green color and, as you can tell, chose to keep things monochromatic. I love this cowl neckline and the lace-up detail along the back. This does run pretty tiny so I recommend sizing up.

Off for a morning stroll in the most amazing red set from Fashion Nova. I actually have this set in white as well and wore it during my trip to Charleston. The high-waisted skirt had a high slit that elongates the legs big time. I reached for my gold lace-up heels to keep things a bit more relaxed.
The top is a long sleeve with puff shoulders and a tie front detail. Although tiny, I really love this because of the padding. It can easily be worn without a bra and pairs well with shorts if you feel the pieces are “too much” together. Not to mention, this red is show-stopping which is perfect for a city like Miami!

Off to brunch by the water in the cutest maxi you ever did see! I’m not usually one to reach for purple and yet I absolutely loved this. This dress has a super simple silhouette with thin adjustable straps and a ruffle along the bottom. Did I mention it has pockets?! There is so much to do with this. I kept things the boho route by throwing on a pair of gold lace-up sandals and big crochet earrings.

I’ll admit this definitely isn’t a bikini that I’d go diving under waves in or spend hours tanning in but it sure was perfect for snapping some photos. We stayed at The Redbury Hotel and they had so many adorable photo locations, including this cabana. It was just the right spot to snag photos in and this neon made my tan pop big time.

As I said, this wasn’t everything! I’ll be back later this week to share the outfits I wore to the fashion shows. In the meantime, I hope this post gave you some outfit inspo + a better idea of what to pack for your next trip to Miami. Thanks so much for stopping by!
With love, McKenz
