Sorority recruitment is right around the corner for college everywhere and with that comes the question “what the heck am I supposed to wear?!”. Not to worry, I’ve got you covered and am sharing thirty outfit ideas over the course of this week.
Yesterday I shared 10 outfit ideas for Open House round (the first round of recruitment) and today I’m sharing 10 for Sisterhood. At Kent State, we do not have a “Philanthropy” round; however, if your school does it typically follows the same outfit guidelines as Sisterhood. Tune in tomorrow for 10 Preference round outfits.
My goal for this series is to provide as much outfit inspiration as possible while sharing styles that are realistic + affordable. Keep in mind “dress code” varies from school to school so what works for me/Kent State may need to be altered for your school!
As I said, Sisterhood is a step up from Open House round meaning it’s time to swap the shorts for something a little dressier. Jumpsuits are a great option for this round! I grabbed this one from SheIn and absolutely love it.
Sizing can be tricky with some of their jumpsuits but this one was perfect. The pant legs are just the right length and look adorable with a pair of espadrille heels. I kept things bohemian by throwing on a pair of my favorite crochet earrings. Obsessed!

A top and skirt are a never-fail outfit combo for this occasion. Here I am wearing the same white Express tank from yesterday’s post. I absolutely love this top and have it in a gazillion colors. It goes with everything and is so easy to dress up and down.
I’m pairing it with a ruffled floral maxi skirt. This has the cutest ruffles along it and a small slit on the side to help elongate the legs. Size down when buying this! I’m popping it on with some white mules from SheIn. I wear these tons and they are great if you’re looking to add a little height without killing your feet.

You can’t go wrong with an easy-breezy maxi dress! These are so feminine and super easy to style. Because this one has so many colors in it, I chose my favorite pink and popped-on shoes in the same hue. These have a shorter heel, giving you just a touch of height. Plus, these are sure to strike up some conversation. Pop on statement earrings to complete your outfit.

Sweet puff sleeves dresses are perfect for this round of recruitment! This bright pink one has polka dots + bows along it making for a fun, feminine pattern. If you have a school with a dress code, this is perfect! Dress it up with a pair of heels or keep things simple with flats. These have a ruched strap that’s adorable! I have a feeling I’ll be wearing these to class lots this fall.

I scored this leopard dress from SheIn and the shirt style was a little unforgiving on me. I decided a belt was going to be my best bet for salvaging it and boy was I right! I chose a simple black ring belt and popped on a pair of 90s inspired platform sandals from Forever 21. If you’re wanting to wear heels but are looking for something that won’t hurt your feet all day, these are the perfect option. If your recruitment is a bit later in the school year, pop on a denim jacket for an added layer.

This romper is super similar to what I wore during my Sisterhood round of sorority recruitment. It’s a step up from the Open House looks, but it’s not as fancy as what I’d be wearing during Preference. This round is all about finding that “happy medium”.
I recommend a bold color as it will set you apart from others, making you a little more memorable. For shoes, I’m slipping into these strappy square-toe heels from SheIn. They have butterflies throughout that are so fun. I popped on matching earrings to keep things cohesive. This is such a unique pairing that will score you compliments all day long!

Midi dresses are a must during recruitment. Not only are they super modest but they’re so easy to dress up and down. To pair with this bright pink I’m slipping into a pair of neutral-heeled mules from Dolce Vita. These have braided straps that are super cute and yet the heel height isn’t anything crazy! This dress could also be worn for brunch with the girls with a pair of flat sandals. It’s super versatile which is a plus!

Just thought I’d throw in another romper option! This one has a warm color palette and a bohemian print that’s adorable for the easy-going girl. Don’t be fooled, although a lot of these outfits are “dressier” if you’re more comfortable in flat sandals then, by all means, wear them. Lace-ups help elongate the legs and look amazing with other outfits too. This pair is from SheIn and they’ve been on repeat all summer long.

I scored this beautiful floral maxi dress in a PR package a few weeks back and have been looking for the perfect occasion to break it out for! Sorority recruitment is the perfect time for a dress like this. If your recruitment is happening inside or a bit later in the school year, maxis will keep you a bit more covered aka a bit warmer. I’m reaching for heeled mules and a pair of floral earrings to complete this look. These are my old faithful from Walmart and I still wear them non-stop!

Little black dresses can’t be beaten! I love this off-the-shoulder moment and the bell sleeves give this outfit a bohemian feel. I’m popping on a pair of espadrille platforms for my shoes of choice. These are from Franco Sarto and give you the height of a heel without the crazy uncomfortable arch of one. They have adorable embroidery along the sides that match these crochet statement earrings beautifully! I love this look so much.
